Player Watch Darcy Moore

It is a commonly held view but may not be true. Marsh has developed nicely in the VFL. It might be better for young players to spend some time in the VFL working on the fundamentals of the game without the pressure and size discrepancies that are there in the AFL for young players. Particularly young skinny talls who may/will end up in the ruck.

Moore might go back to the VFL for the VFL Finals.

VFL not bad but Moore does not look to much out of place at AFL Level

If it's counted as a tackle by champion data it must result in a stoppage a turnover or a free kick so I guess that means all 12 were effective.
Ok thanks.
I noticed a couple he missed and hoped they didn't count.

There were a few that weren't awarded either, evens them out I guess

My husband joined me for his first (and only) Pies game this year, as he is not a Pies fan.

Post game discussion (as we tried to find our way from the SCG to Oxford Street, which turned out to be difficult for two first timers): what did you think of Darcy's game?

His reply: the kid makes things happen. He influences the play. That is an amazing trait for a teenager.

And this (totally unsolicited, as I don't like comparisons): he is miles ahead of Joe Daniher at the same age/stage.

TradeDraft will like that one.:D

I agree he make things happen during the Game.

Also he makes people come to watch him. We are going to miss the Finals this year but I dare say people would still watch our games to see what Moore can do

I have to say up until now I have not been overly excited by Moore's performances. Not being critical of him, just think his effort (which is first rate) was being judged higher than his actual contribution to the game. However I thought his performance against Sydney was a big improvement on past efforts, even significantly better than his five goal effort a few weeks back.

It will be interesting to track his development and performance against Joe Daniher who is an obvious comparison. I am optimistic that Moore will turn out the better of the two. I just think Moore's attitude might be superior to Daniher who comes across to me as a bit of a show pony (being polite).

What did you not like in his 5 Goal Game?

Well Danhier is a few years ahead of Moore and he has to Carry a Forward Line. Where actually has Help from Cloke/Reid/White

Agree, Moore will be the Better of the 2. Attitude is difference as you said. Think Moore has more Drive then Joe

It wasn't that I didn't like his 5 goal effort but thought it was a bit overrated compared to how he played over the entirety of the game. Yes he is there to kick goals, but there will be many games where he plays much better games and probably does not kick a goal.

What have you Thought been his best Games? I thought he has not had a really bad game yet

Interesting looking at Stats of Moore vs Daniher at same Age:

Watched my first Pies game in years as now an SCG member.

Darcy very impressive and looks to have a huge future. Attacks ball hard and when he gets a few extra kilos put on look out

Danniher kicked 28 goals in his 2nd year

Wonder if Moore will beat that mark next year? The hype train will be real if he does.

IF Moore plays 21 Games like Joe Did up Forward. I would say it is a Descent Possibility

Tell us how much Mr Park is missing Travis Varcoe :D

Obviously having only a few games under his belt, his impact on games will be limited. Which it has. But the signs are there and a few of the strong one grab marks he has taken should make Jesse White and Chris Dawes blush.

When I watch him play though, I think back to the interviews he has done. On draft night. Pre-Season. When he signed the contract extension. He was genuinely excited and his love for Collingwood shone through. Thats how he plays. Thats why he'll get everything out of himself. I'm confident he'll be a super player for us. Might take time but the wait will be worth it.

100% Agree. He is happy to tell anyone how much he loves the Club and it does come across in his play. How Desperate he is and Excited when something good Happen.

In his Prime he could be something very special
