Episode 6, halfway through.

Excellent so far. No pacing issues at all. Noticed most episodes have been under 50 minutes, and it's made a huge difference. Even the slower episodes have whizzed by.

The fight scenes are still a bit ridiculous, and it's ridiculous that all these random thugs are also martial arts experts. Dry cleaners landing spinning head kicks? I done MMA for years and still struggle with that shit.
Because the rest of what happens is based in reality and entirely believable? Don't over think it.

I've got no problems with the pacing either. I like that they take time to build the characters and the story...its interesting to me.
I'm 8 episodes in and the only time I started to lose interest was the prison fight. It just kept going on and on and on.

Good show so far and provided The Hand don't show up and ruin it again I expect I'll enjoy the rest of it too.

Season 3 has just the right mix of drama, intrigue and action. Combined with a good story and characters that I actually gave a shit about and you end up with a comic book series the way it should be done.
I enjoyed every minute of it.
My only concern was the abruptness of the finale

Apart from that, awesome

I thought it was good, but not quite as good as everyone else here. Thought they could have dropped an episode somewhere in there for a season of 12. The first few were great as were the last few, but in the middle there were eps that dragged and were only saved by big finishes.

MINOR SPOILERS BELOW

When the Feds and media went down the daredevil is the bad guy path I felt it was a slightly pre trodden path. Then Fisk doing his media conference and within a few moments has the crowd thinking he is jesus and dd was the problem? Come on. He was also really whiney this season.

Overall I quite enjoyed it (enough to binge 6 eps on a Friday night) and it is comfortably in the top few marvel seasons for me.

Thoughts.

Series is excellently paced, maybe the best of any one except Defenders. There's only really one half episode (Karen flashback) which had me looking around at the time.

All the characters are well written, none seem too one dimensional.

Bullseye makes for a great, new interesting bad guy.

I think Fisk is a big strength in this. He's a real bastard. In the first season he was terrific, but as a villain was charismatic and his extreme means to justify the end probably didn't do the trick to get us fully on board with Murdock/Daredevil against him. This season, he's just yeah, a cruel bastard, which makes him a strong villain but removes any lingering pull the audience may have had toward him.

Karen revealing how she killed Wesley from S1 and suffering no repercussions by self righteous Matt or Foggy was very annoying TV. Obviously different standards for friends. Also Matt continuing his 'I don't kill' routine, when really, some of the beatdowns he gives would have blokes dead in hospital a few hours later from their injuries. It is touched on how wrong it is that he thinks it is ok how he justifies it to himself but it could have gone further.

Overall all though, yeah, excellent. Engaging, entertaining season that doesn't drag.

Rankings by me

DD1, DD3, JJ1
Defenders
Punisher
DD2
JJ2
LC1

Haven't seen/bothered with yet:
IF1, IF2, LC2.

Netflix Marvel really hate costumes.

Sent from mTalk

True but they still wear that low budget ninja outfit. Was good to start with but looks kinda stupid now and is kinda stupid as it offers no protection.

Cox adressed this in a few interviews. Murdock didnt want protection this season.

At the start when he was all woe is me, and had a death wish but in the latter half especially when he was out matched by Dex it doesn’t make sense. Should have tied in to the Melvin story line at the mid point.

Just finished this, it's unfair to put it in the same group as Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist because Daredevil S3 reached even the giddy heights of S1. And S2 wasn't that bad either.

It was one hell of a season, the acting by the main characters is simply on another planet. Thought reintroducing Fisk was going to result in a stale plot but they did it really well. Got very involved with the fortunes of Dex, Nadeem and even Karen. That prison escape scene? Phwoar.

Fisk imo is still the best Netflix Marvel villain. credit to both Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio.

You could probably extend that to the MCU too. Though Thanos was amazing too.

Yep Thanos certainly is up there, but I do like the villains like Cottonmouth and Fisk that use their cunning to beat the heroes, because they know in a pure fistfight they would not win. Nadeem's meltdown when they realised Fisk had beaten them again was my reaction too - "he is unbeatable!"

Kilgrave and Punisher also up there for sure.

I don't consider Netflix Marvel to be in the MCU, though. The references are not direct and having a TV series is a completely different mode of story-telling compared to a 3 hour movie.

I can't comment on Cottonmouth, but show and comic Fisk has always been shown as capable of going toe-to-toe with Daredevil physically. It's what makes him such a great villain; he's always one step ahead in the overall game, but if it comes down to a fistfight, he'll take care of that as well.

Awesome season, loved all of it right up until...

The last episode. I get the Daredevil character; the morality, the code. However I felt the whole season was leading towards the ultimate demise of Fisk, more than likely at the ends of someone who wasn't Daredevil, be it Karen, Dex or Nadeem. The mind games being played with all the pawns involved, especially Dex, added this constant layer of intrigue for where it would go. I didn't expect Dex to get in a Bullseye costume and throw a sai through Fisk's heart, but I was really craving that dark edge. Ending in a very traditional, neat way was slightly disappointing, albeit more fitting for the show as a whole.
