why do u idiots get on here and try and tarnish blokes names by saying stuff that aint true. a hip and shoulder is part of the game and no one wants blokes carted away in an ambulance but it does happen from time to time. if it was that bad why wasnt he reported? thats right because a fair hip and shoulder is part of the game

piss poor thing townsend done saturday thought he was better than that
I thought you was better than this. It's unfortunate that Doggy got seriously injured but that doesn't automaticly make the incedent dirty. I seen it and it was fair mate. Don't go writing shit like this on here that could make things get out of hand. If you have got something to say as serious as this then go and see Towna about it. I know who you are as you know who I am. Don't write shit like this unless you are willing to put your name to it. Very poor by you!

Anyway, all this aside, they tell me the Umps were questionable at the least and is the gap between South and Somerset a mere 5 points or did South take the foot of the pedal to allow the Roos 8 goals or thereabouts in the last , who played on Baldy and who were the most influential players for both sides ?On a side note the DFA umpire at the Dogs V Robins game needs to let the game flow and he needs to be told from a higher authority from within the league that HE is the reason the players get frustrated - does he get paid a bonus for the 50 metre penalties and/or send off of players, Nathan Cross reported twice, gee he is a very unfair player is he not:thumbsdown:

Wooldridge shoulder did not go to strahan, heath did not train all week after being hit from behind did not go to strahan,McCreadie in wedding at launy did not go to strahan, dont know where you got your info from, and the two unders who missed out watched the game dont know where you got your info from???
Definately thimbs up to the Yolla Unders that were in the squad but not the 22, they have some great young players up there currently

i was at the somerset south game sat and what i saw was a very hard fought game of footy in fact probably oneof the best games i have seen. and after the game both teams were in the clubrooms having a beer and that is where we should leave it and get on with next week. at somerset we have seen what nasty rumours can do and its not fair on the players or the club.

Fair call, both teams will feature come Finals so each coach and their committees should be concentrating on the rest of the year.Quenny will struggle although the home ground should help against the Hawkers, Ridgley should be too strong for the Robins who have a very young and quick team,Roos at home against Natone will be an acid test for Somerset who do in fact bridge the gap normally versus the Pies at Langley Park but Natone are a fair bit better than they were last year and last but not least Cuprona looking for a better effort against Yolla than Round 1 but obviously will struggle at Yolla.

I wasn't at the game Mooch but I heard that the umpiring was good. French, Lawrence & Slapper played on Baldy at different times. Lozza & Kodey played well apparently & Wils struggled for fitness (again) in his role of Runner:D

Thank you, Wils would be weighed down by the crap that comes out of his mouth , none of which would have come from the Roos benchstaff, he would have mooched some free drinks and food out of Bards during the week no doubt:thumbsu:

Sounds like overall the NWFA umps did a good job in the eyes of most, appears that they may be ahead slightly in these stakes as well as the playing as far as the Combined game go but it is good to see some new faces on our panel this year alah Stazz and Chet that actually played the game at a reasonable level thus giving them a greater understanding of emotions on the ground

It certainly is an interesting scenario, I personally think you cannot force someone to play in a Rep game if they simply do not want to eg they may want to rest that particular weekend, go away, in fact do anything they like because if they are contracted to a particular club and paid, this game would not be part of it.In fact from a Club and recruiting viewpoint I am sure the rep game would not even be discussed in any form of negotiation. What if a key player from your club eg Baldock does a season defining injury during the rep game - not too good for his Club is it ?In fact, this happened this year with DeVries from Cuprona and to a lesser degree Butler from South.Yes, by all means let the Selectors nominate their initial squad as in fairness to them they do not know what each player may or may not be doing on the weekend of the game but then assertain who then actually is WILLING to play then add or delete from this group accordingly.Sometimes the so called "best" players running around cannot go to the next "level" anyway as is required in the Rep game.I am sure a player will play his best if he is willing and not forced. The Clubs could let the selectors know if their player is available or not, this happens with the BCL Combined cricket team which has a cross over of some of the players anyway, hence they have won the last 4 games with blokes "wanting" to play and not being forced to, we may only be talking about a minority of players not prepared to play or have made prior arrangements as most would want to play I assume, bring on the NWFA next year, communication between all parties was better than last year but with a loss everyone needs to be accountable to improve for next year:thumbsu:

You are spot on here Moocher , the key is to select players that are 'Willing ' to play in rep games . You will not get any value out of players that are not really interested and only playing to avoid suspension .The NWFA had a few players that have previous NTFL experience and / or obvious talent that have made it clear to Nuts Johnson they were not interested in the rep game . Bit rough to suspend them , some may have prior commitments and a lot of the older ( and sometimes better players ) have physical issues and really look foward to the break !. A forced footballer is not a pretty one !. Recall Tim " boss " Bakes being refused a clearence from Penguin to Preston circa 2000 . He was told he was a " required player" in there reserves one weekend and promptly told them he would kick the ball at least 50 meters into the fowardline , the opposition fowardline that was !! Was promptly cleared !. Can't force players to be committed . I thought the rep game was excellent this year and could have gone either way at 3/4 time . Very high standard match and would have been an eye opener for anyone from the NTFL watching ! Under 23's again a nailbiter , Darwin unlucky not to win in a great standard match . Can't wait till next year , Darwin closing the gap fast !.

No wonder you blokes up there at Motton or Preston or the back of Ulvy wherever you are are so successful-you speak and think some sense:thumbsu:

Brayden Fields in the top 5 players in the D F A at the moment. Strange that he was not in the top 6 best players for his club Somerset last saturday. Kicked two goals saturday so we all know he got a minimum of two kicks for the game. definately not in my top 5 players in the D F A.

Good to see young Fieldsy must be getting some fitness back after a early season break. Kicked 5 yesterday and named best player obviously brings out his best when he plays top sides. Natone look pretty strong this year. Also congrats to old man Baldock who chalked up his 100 on the gravel yesterday and still managed to kick a couple, one of the toughest players i have ever seen!

He had 21 touches and 2 goals at the tender age of 50. Hadnt played in 7 years but still managed to contribute. Was an honour to be able to play a game with him!:thumbsu:

His he going to play on the two's at South Burnie might need a old head to win them there 5 flag.
Must have been an away game so Laura would not find out, I remember watching training at Somerset a couple of years ago when he was an assistant towelling the lads up on the track-a sensational family are the Baldocks:thumbsu:

NWFA ahead slightly in umpiring, more like they are ahead by a country mile.
