Tyson would be 18 about to turn 19.. and it wouldnt surprise me, the club didnt repect him enough, him and his brother Kade, from what I have been told, were only on normal match payments last year..

Those two rumours I heard from an NWFA, I doubt either are true, especially after what you said.. I know that they have been working hard to land a big name, they been onto Ulverstones Timmy Auton (along with somerset + others), as well as Wall..

Yeah, had a run round last season but havent been out there much this year, I guess I should get out there as the season will be starting very soon!..

i think cuprona are playing yolla tommorow afternoon in a hitout before the lightening pship next week, natone are having an intraclub tommorow also.thats all i know about the dfa teams.

I had read in the paper that a C Robertson was tearin in up in the Leven, then only realised it was him when I was reading the clearances, he is wasting his talent..

The bloke is about 35...hardly wasting his talent...Word is he is good mates with the coach at Railton and helping him out. Has been a great player, may still play at Yolla.

If people saw his footy resume, you'd be amazed. I remember watching him in about 1990 playing Ntfl footy. Pretty sure he won a b and f that year. Went on to get drafted. Pretty sure be played for the WAFL. Many, many acholades 4 him along the way!!!

Was drafted to Geelong from Wynyard but broke his leg over there i believe. Went to WAFL and won Perth b&f and almost a sandover medal.

yea watch the natone intra club good hit out with plenty of numbers.the expectations are mounting on the maggies as we are looking the goods,i know that damian johnson the somerset coach is slightly worried about the natone threat.i then went down the road and watched the yolla-cuprona game where yolla got up by 37 pts by my scoring anyway, but both teams were keeping a bit up their sleeves from what i could see, yolla had heath, symes(coach),and corey robertson out(if he plays there)and cuprona had about 5 or 6 out i think from what one of their coaches told me-including bloom, devries, riley, brown(coach),smith and only played some of contract players for a qtr or so.i could understand this when they play against each other in the first round lol.

Well there are 3 devries at the club now, were none of them playing?.. Doesnt surprise me smithy didnt play, he would just be easing back in after some time off and shoulder injuries..

Heard someone broke the windows at the Queenstown Football Ground, also someone mentioned there is some footage on youtube from the legends game as well as this one I found..

well we are getting close to the season proper, with the lightening premiership this saturday.. will be a good chance to see how each side is shaping up, although I have been told that my boys will be resting a few for round one, might get a call up myself, despite not training since january! lol

yeah looking forward to the start of the season, the lightniing premiership will be a good chance to play some of the younger blokes for us down here.its hard for us to take a strong team up though because the boys arent real keen to travel 2 hours play 2 20 minute halves if we lose its 2 hours back home.

majestic i was up at training tuesday night and no broken windows then however there was a broken window in the cricket club about a month ago.

Maybe that is what the people were talking about, I hadn't been to the oval I just heard that there were some broken windows around the oval. What ground is the footy at this weekend, and what would it cost to enter the game?

I am thinkiing about going to the footy this weekend.

the footy is up at wynyard this week im not sure if they charge to go to the hillside cup if they do it would be 5 bucks.

Cheers, I am going to see if I can get up there and take a look.

If not, I will get along next week to a game, looks like the family may have picked Natone as the tema they'll follow as they are the Magpies. I'd still check out Queenstown though, looking forward to getting out and seeing some footy.

I would think it would only be a gold coin donation or something this weekend..

Does the real season start the following week?.. or is there a week in between?..

The fixture seems to suggest it will start without a weeks break.

Where would the DFA VS NWFA game be played? I had a look in the fixture that I found in the Advocate a few weeks ago and there was no mention of a venue. Would that be Wynyard as well?

well its 6 bucks to get in tomorrow according to the advocate, yeah there is no break after this week its straight into it

i would say the combine game would probably be at west park or devonport im guessing they will alternate each year.

The NWFA have now made the Ulverstone ground their headquarters, so prob Ulv or Burnie..

It was interesting to see the predictions for the DFA in the Advocate today.. predicted the dogs to come second, got a chuckle out of me.. they havent rated Natones recruits very highly, think they predicted 5th.. I dont know where they get their info from, or what they base their predictions on.. I mean they only mentioned 4 of our recruits (one of which has left) and didnt mention any of our loses..

well what can we gather from the weekends results
1.ridgely are going to be hard to stop going back to back.
2.somerset look to b the big improvers.
3.natone will be better but how much is the key.
4.cuprona,yolla,natone,qtown are all fighting for 4th and 5th spots.
5.yeoman are still ordinary lol.
6.nigel coulsen and nick barnes are the keys to ridgelys pship defence.

the dfa by appointing two former nwfa players as their combine teams coaches are showing how keen they are in beating the nwfa.fingers crossed.

with the first round looming how about a few predictions from everyone, cmon winner takes the king of darwin award.
after roster round

first- ridgely 10 wins
2nd- natone 9
3rd- somerset 9
4th -queenstown 9
5th- cuprona 7
6th- sth bur 6
7th - yolla 6
8th - yeoman 1 win

anyone willing to have a go????

alright i will have a crack might be a bit bias towards queenstown though.

ridgley 13
yolla 10
queenstown 10
south burnie 9
somerset 5
natone 5
cuprona 3
yeoman 0

its hard to know how teams are going to though better indication after the first couple of rounds.

Ridgley
Cuprona
Yolla
South Burnie
Somerset
Queenstown
Natone
Yeoman

Lets hope Iam wrong Yolla may very well be sleeper may finsh on top

Ridgley
Yolla
South Burnie
Cuprona
Somerset
Natone
Queenstown
Yeoman

Its almost impossible to predict as I can only go off 2007, the lightning premiership and players who have been cleared.. Ridgley obviously look strong again, although I wouldnt be surprised if they dropped to second.. Yolla are hard to judge with a few players leaving with Hunt..

Yoeman should improve but not near enough to challenge for the finals.. Queenstown should win the majority of games at home, which could puch them higher.. Apart from Yoeman, any team could make the finals.. should become clearer after a few rounds..
