King made a point a few days back that to be a good coach,you must have people skills - he then said “Like Tim Fagan , he may not be as tactically shrewd as some other coaches, but he gets others to worry about that stuff”
Slobbo then mis-quoted him on air basically inferring that King had said Fagan wasn’t a good coach - to which King got riled and said ‘don’t put words in my mouth’.
King was obviously feeling touchy and Slobbo is a dill.

I wrote this in another thread but it applies perfectly here…
I understand you don’t watch the Lions coverage every week so perhaps you think it’s just this week but King has campaigned against Fagan so consistently that it’s becoming the news…King clearly has a personal problem with Fagan that is affecting his judgement and his professionalism and Robbo was right to call him out for it
he contorts himself into pretzels to have a targeted crack at Fagan as a coach…when have you ever heard ‘number of top 20 picks’ used as a metric to evaluate a coach?
Why top 20? Why not top 10? Or top 30? Because he’s arbitrarily cherry picking numbers to suit his Fagan vendetta
Scott is a great coach, maybe the best in the game. but King can just say that without making it an attack on Fagan

King dumps on Fagan every chance gets, but given King thinks Champion Data is the best ranking system you have to say his opinion is not better than someone at local pub.

From an outsiders perspective - Fagan doesn’t appear to do a lot of tactical stuff on match day - how can he when he’s on the bench, encouraging his players, adding his take to help the players on interchange and making mental notes on the flow of the game?
I think King thinks if you’re not drowning in game day stats and moving players from FB to FF you’re a lousy coach - Fagan has proved ‘player management’ is a far more important skill.

Agree re B Scott (I’m a Lions fans after all) but two things can be true at the same time
It certainly seems he doesnt rate Fages, but Kingy also seems to be able to extract a personality out of Kornes. So kudos for that.

That is the counter argument - but thats not just about coaching.

It all comes down to how you measure a Coach.

I could be wrong but I think King has said a few times that Fagan is a good motivator and manager but that he’s not as good tactically as someone like Scott. That doesn’t have to be taken as a huge criticism. But Brisbane fans would know better than me if he’s said pointed things about Fagan more than I would
Saying Brisbane should move on from Fagan and have a crack for Chris Scott is pretty bad.
Started with Craig Hutchison hating on Fagan (agesism) and King just got on board to kiss Hutchison on the ass because that's who King is as a person.
King is one of those folks who has this very narrow world view of seeing people with money and thinking "****ing why not me?". Like he's some rags to riches bloke.. complete moron. Like Ross Lyon. "Oh going from this postcode to this postcode is really important. Look at Moi now. I've made it. ".
