I have a great idea.. hear me out... how about we add some other ****ing random colours to our prison bar guernsey?

you ask why?

Well the thing is.. its just a guernsey. Colours? who cares about that.. they are just colours

What about the heritage you say? well we did play in a pink guernsey once and some blue hooped shit. The Prison Bars one is only one of many we have worn even if we have worn it for 120 years and won 35 premierships in it.

Surely its no big deal that we thumb our nose to 120 years of PAFC history and add some other colours to the guernsey, and make it "not" our historic guernsey anymore and being completely pointless.

........

Note to opposition supporters... every time you suggest this shit, it reads pretty much like the above... and we are sick of it

The black and white wharf pylon / prison bar guernsey has historic significance to the Port Adelaide area as it represents the wharf pylons down the Port. Its not just some shit that was whacked together yesterday. We introduced the guernsey which represented the PAFC and the Port Adelaide community in 1902.. thats right... almost 120 years ago, and then wore it (and continue to wear it in the SANFL until this day).

We will never desecrate it by adding colours so stop ****ing suggesting we do.

You realise that the guy who comes and suggests exactly this on the very next page "doesn't have time to come back here and read this" right?

They all say the same thing yet I'm pretty sure these braniacs aren't solving world hunger or performing complex surgery between these thought farts.

Hey Power fans, I come in peace!

You really want to wear your traditional prison bar guernsey but are barred from doing so and have to wear a guernsey with only vague similarities to the prison bar guernsey ... so here are a bunch of other ideas for guernseys with only vague similarities to the prison bar guernsey!

What guernsey abomination is Sam Powell-Pepper wearing here?
Our new home jumper. Chosen by everyone that doesn't actually support this club.

none of this has ever been true lmao
In practice, but the spirit is there. The problem is that the club is made of people, and people fall short from what we should be.

In a sense, Enviable Tradition is right. We are that which we are ought to be.

Pointing that we haven’t fully become what we are doesn’t make our essence less true. Just shows that we must keep going on towards it.

This just reminded me of all the kids drawing jumper designs and colours before we transitioned into the AFL.
I submitted 2 designs as 14(ish) year old. Widened prison bars but gold at the top; and a striking magenta-white-magenta number with a black PA monagram in the middle. Guilty as charged :$

I think, somewhere, I still have an edition of Australian Time magazine which had an article on the exercise. Tim Ginever was pictured in it with a pile of the submitted designs. I'll try to dig it up sometime.

This reminds me of when the club held a competition for a new mascot to replace the old Vodafone phone man.

We submitted basically Superman in black and teal. How did we not win!

I come in pieces Port fans. Why the fcuk did I read all that crap, again, from intruders who want us to wear non a non B&W Guernsey?

As a kid in the 90s I thought Power and Teal was cool as and as a person that looks back at things from days gone by and experiences no nostalgia or hindsight or regret, I'm happy we stuck with it and still stick with it.

Doesn't mean it can't be refined.

Britain want to be the only country at the Olympics to wear Red White and Blue, I guess the yanks should just suck it up and make a different coloured stars and stripes for the occassion.

After all, it's only colours, it's the design that's important, right?

Forgive the intrusion but I was having a conversation about this today with a Port supporting mate.

Surely Collingwood would allow you to wear black stripes over teal or even a light eggshell blue?
How would you feel if GWS made you paint your Oompa Loompas green instead of their traditional orange?
