The problem with teal above the bars is that the colour represents the Port River, so you are symbolically presenting a flooded wharf

Not going to fight you - you are entitled to your opinion.

In my opinion its Black and White or nothing - it is the most visible and easily recognisable symbol of our history.
Any change to the design effectively degrades that history and tradition.

Similar to the "let's have co-captains" saga....

In a contextless vacuum, the teal topped PBs is a better design than what we currently have. It's more Port Adelaide. I fully agree that we shouldn't have to continue to make compromises but I want to see a PB design in the league every week.

It was probably a mistake in hindsight to not enter the league with the prison bar design. I know it's easy to say with almost 30 years of history behind us, but the PBs are the strongest piece of visual branding we have and abandoning the design entirely hurt us.

If we'd come into the league with a black guernsey with teal bars, we'd still be wearing that design today and we probably wouldn't argue about it so often.
 
The lack of teal isn't the issue, it's the black and white stripes. And they're still there so Collingwood will still say No.

A Raiders reflective silver could be a workaround but the club isn't going there either.

Jackomillard15's version - but with a reflective silver yoke (like in cutlery, chrome plating, polished stainless steel, etc), in lieu of teal.
Can someone mock that up?
I'd like to see what that looks like.

I personally like teal, but it needs to be in the trim, piping or a chevron. In other words, in small doses, not a huge bock of it, otherwise it looks too gooby.

A think Black line above the Horizontal White strip, The black back strip where 1870 is to be teal and a Black strip/border above the white number box. May look a little better. Then each year the bordering black lines crease ever so slightly until there is no Teal to be seen!
 
I like the teal bars tbh, as an alternative design sure, and silver bars and/or playing around with the yoke are fine, and would have been fine back in 97 if the OG and the greatest hadn't been effectively banned

But we do something like that now and that will be the "new PB's" that will be accepted and we'll never get the chance for the original

Gotta start at the top and work down, not the other way around

Hey other club guys, it may only be one game a year atm but we ARE actually wearing the black and white PB's, nobody has died. And have done for a few years now.

It's ok it works, it is accepted, another design isn't needed.

Noone is arguing that, no one.

My argument is that the teal top strip is better than the Burford strip.
My other argument is who cares about the showdown, I want the original B&W strip on ANZAC Day.

FFS our logo still has the PB.
Why is it ok on the logo but not on the jumper?
Madness.

But I am well aware that until we get a member elected board there will be no material change.

Btw: this is how you watch the Showdown everywhere but in SA.

I think the EPL clubs are even more voracious at grabbing fan's money than AFL clubs. These kits change every year.
 
the logo thing has always been noteworthy to me. our original AFL logo literally has black and white stripes on it, the ones that literally feature on Collingwood's guernsey. our new logo literally has black and white Prison Bars on it. how are they okay with our logos having black and white stripes?

I know we used to call the U19's the thirds, I assume it doesn't mean their juniors.
