Since when is Beams even that good?? Would not give up anything more than a pick 10. Numerous thigh issues as well.

This for sure. He is being hugely overrated here. pick 4 is overs for Beams. A big downhill skier.

Not sure of the exact numbers but there wouldn't be more than 5 players in the AFL that have averaged that over the last 3 years. It may only just be him and Ablett.

I'd like to see Collingwood play hardball. Pathetic the way AFL players who aren't free agents are allowed to sook their way back to their home states (and then nominate a club within that state).
Now that free agency is here players should be tied to their clubs until they qualify for free agency, there should be no option of going to the PSD. By all means request a trade but if a suitable one isn't offered, bad luck.
Has anyone ever heard of a player in the US major sports publicly requesting a move back home? No, because they would be rightly ridiculed. If you're that homesick than retire and go work as an accountant or gas station attendant or something.
Melbourne is a 1 and a half hour flight from Brisbane. The players also get a pretty chunky offseason in which to sulk at home.

Also an interesting comparison is our Darren Jolly trade 2009. Swans got Lewis Jetta and ended up with Ben McGlynn for the other pick (which ended up as Ben Stratton). First+3rd rounder for Jolly seems like pretty fair compensation to me... for another player who asked to return home for personal reasons while still contracted.

It has been made very public by family friends of the Beams' that the situation is genuine and the decision by Dayne and Collingwood is not and has not been decided and is far from being decided. It has, in actual fact, been stated that Dayne does not want to leave Collingwood, he decided in 2012, he declined a big offer from GC for less money and he has since built a house in Melbourne.
The situation with Dayne's father was known, but it is only very very recently that the severity of the situation was known, Dayne's father had been hiding the truth of how bad his situation is.
So Dayne has reacted how any normal human would. But, because of the fact that he DOES NOT WANT TO LEAVE Eddie and Gary are working hard to find a solution where Dayne can spend as much time as he wants/needs with his family during the off season and during the H&A season. Fact.
Why can't you filthy humans be respectful for once, all this talk on here is disgusting and you all should be ashamed.

I disagree. Brisbane hold all of the cards. Tell me the last player to demand a trade to a club that didn't eventuate?
