You must have missed the bit that makes this zany theory impossible. Understandable, it's only in the first few words.
hawfforn were winning flags when 80% of the league was bankrupt and you want to talk lame. It took Essendon to put an end to the domination.
It's arguments like that that give me the licence. If we were so much richer than the rest of the comp, how come we almost folded 5 years after our last flag of the era?

You do realise that Essendon haven't won a flag without cheating the salary cap since the inception of said cap? You're officially an AFL irrelevance.

Essendon were scapegoats. We were paying players ala Judd with VISY and we didn't make appropriate disclosures. It was poor management on Essendon's behalf but questions could be asked how Hawthorn nearly went broke mid-way through the 90s after being on top of the heap through the 80s. Just because Essendon were caught doesn't mean they were the only club in breach of the salary cap rules.
