Days until Carlsmeg get the flogging they so richly deserve.

Lets keep it simple.
Lions win by 29 points and you win.
Loser changes avatar or signature to the choice of the winner for two weeks.

If it's a straight even money bet like that (one avatar or sig. change for another) then the bet is on a 9.5 point line. Yes I'll take that bet at 9.5 points. Deal?

Pretty interesting that Robbo was omitted after they fought his 1 week suspension. Seems that no one down at Visy Park has a clue about what's going on. Looks to be a club in chaos.

Much water under the bridge and mud under the wheels of the tank since then, Blue Gunslinger. 1995 is a memory, distant, the tanking of recent years is his legacy now.

But I must hurry, first tee awaits....

2.

I might have a "The blues are going to get smashed and miss the finals" party Saturday night, invite Twiggles. :thumbsu:

It is lovely to be in a position where the AFL gives you so many concessions your team is always propped up and kept in the hunt. Even then you have been unable to make the finals for years. But of course the AFL would not want to risk this young market for footy. Which will be the next Melb team you can rape & pillage? (let me guess Blues Sat night)

You just keep believing that, we'll just keep succeeding while you make excuses. You're becoming the new Richmond.

Hang on.... you... you support... Carltank... right? In the time we've won 3 premierships, you've recorded a big 0 in the "finals played" section. Keep hanging your hat on those tanked-for #1 picks.

Amazes me how much air the Brisbane crowd have pumped into the tyres right now, and how much of it is just - hot air.

We get the now fashionable "played the top two, so they don't really count as losses" line. A flogging by Collingwood and only one quarter competitive against Carlton sugggests that those rounds had a fair chance of being losses against a good proportion of the league.

Meanwhile the Carlton side which apparently has no chance has comprehensively beaten the two sides directly above on the ladder and the side below. In amongst the following pack we have heartbreakers which could have gone either way against Hawthorn and Essendon, and a couple more narrow losses against competititive sides on days the Blues played poorly. If the game is going to be coulda beens, then Carlton has a stronger case for coulda been clear third after ten rounds than either Brisbane or the Dogs do.

Can't see where all that confidence comes from at Brisbane. Carlton maybe have a question mark against on the road, but it equally may be that it's panned out that way as a combination of inconsistencey from a very young side and team styles that hurt Carlton at this stage.

Hoping for a ripper match, and for the Blues to put a close game in the win column this time.

It's the improvement that Lions fans have seen in the side, even in the face of some serious injuries, and the fact that we seem to be plugging holes that we had last year, like having more goalscorers than just B&B, and it's the development of players like Mitch Clark, Rich, Cornelius, Polkinghorne, Austin who all this year have really begun to impress.

Basically, the Lions are becoming a very good side across the whole field, and if we were anywhere near full strength we'd be mighty hard to beat at the Gabba, against anyone.

But you're right - we have to crawl before we walk, and that's probably what makes this game so crucial to both teams, in that both teams are trying to walk.

THere is no place for such even handed opinion in this forum. Shame.

OK I'll try again: I think we're going to SMASH the Bluescum back to Lygon St., and when Twiggers sees Juddy crying she'll run off with Caro.

Actually, now I look at it, this is a pretty important game for the Blues in the context of their season. If you lose this (as you probably will), then your season will be in need of some help, perhaps even divine intervention, for in the following weeks you have -

St Kilda (almost certain loss)
Essendon (toss of the coin)
Freo in Freo (who beat you on the GCST last time)
Richmond (OK you'll win that...)
Swans (in Syd, tough game)
Collingwood (another tough game)
North (probable win)
Geelong (almost certain loss)

Tough times ahead bluebaggers, season on the line a bit tomorrow night. Hate to be the ones to derail it for you.

I'll be here Peashooter - and loving it. It must suck having been shit for 8 seasons - and then having been promised the world by the club and then being hit with the realisation that your team's still shit - and still won't make the finals - and is still reliant on a player who you overpaid for, and a full-forward with a negative IQ who turns up to play every 5 games or so.

Carlton = worst team of this millenium :) :thumbsu:
