anyone else get a tiny bit worried about where Wattsy is at from what bails just said?

In what way?

If you mean the fact that he's (seemingly) underdeveloped, I don't think its all that surprising, as dean said, he's still a kid and only finished school last year.

understand that... i think it was mainly the one about him struggling through pre-season and being frustrated that he can't keep up (or something along those lines). Certainly nothing to be too concerned with... as i said just a tiny bit worrying to me. I think I might just be too keen to see him out there:D

I know what you're referring to but for mine Dean explained it well: he's a little bit frustrated but because he's a bigger frame it takes a bit longer to settle into the rhythm/load of AFL footy.

Having quoted dean on that, i don't know if its actually true that having a big frame makes it harder. Anyone have any idea? :p

well it's a fact that young talls take longer to settle into AFL than mids... but I thought he was more saying that wattsy was struggling in pre season training, in which I don't see height as an excuse.

I thought he spoke well. He seems like the kind of guy you can never win an argument against.

We've always known that he is a good communicator though!

Well there hasnt been a dud no1 pick for a long time, he has a lot to live up to, considering Riewoldt, Hodge, Goddard, Cooney, Roughhead, Gibbs, Murphy & Kruezer are all pretty much justifying the hype

Loved when he butted in to say "and Mckenzie" when they were rattling off the decent/good games of the youngers guys in Trengove/Scully/Grimes

*Deledio

Although we know who should have been taken at #1.

Deledio was the third best player in that draft so that's not too shabby I suppose.

McKenzie has been better than Scully and Grimes in his first two games but it's no surprise that he goes unnoticed.

Yep, I did too.

The comments left me with an empty feeling. It was the context in which Bailey and Gazza were talking talked about him, as if he almost lacked a desire to do what is required to cut it at AFL level. Which I am sure is not the case; it’s just how it came across.

I would have also liked Bailey to have taken a bigger wack at that Grant Thomas w**ker re: comments about being a good assistant not head coach

I think we all need to remember that Watts was drafted as a 17 year old. He would have been eligible to be drafted this draft with Scully, Trengove etc. I thought Bailey was pretty firm that he would play Senior footy this year. We need to show a bit of patience. He is still only 18, fellas.

Good post mate.

Can we just not worry about Watts for a little while? He's the same age as Scully and Trengove remember.
