Is Larkey a gun or just Ben Brown mkII?

Said it last year when the norf fan was telling us they wouldn’t trade 2 (they clearly would have but expected overs), there young KPP stocks are non existent. From memory 2 players 195cm+ were 22 or younger who weren’t rucks. The rest (larkey, coot etc..) all 27+ and don’t fit the timeline very well.

They’ve fallen into the GWS trap of just taking mids and pushing them to flanks. The difference being GWS had way more picks due to their ability to keep swapping out players for 1st rounders. Norf can’t afford to lose any talent.

They’ve already got their midfield set, they had to trade out pick 2 for trainor/tauru and Armstrong/faull/whitlock to get their list better balanced.
That would have been the smart move ( trade out p2) as you say they have already invested previously in mids, grab a couple of talls.
Maybe clubs were less likely to do this last year due to the evenness and depth of the draft, but they’ve had multiple drafts to bring in KPPs and failed to do it.
Obviously they don’t have a Blair at their club calling the shots

Can anyone actually tell me how FOS went? I did see the last quarter but can’t say I saw him.
what you'd expect from any random kid in their first game, got a handful of touches. looked to move well but had no impact. too small and out of his depth atm.

Yeah but how will their fans circlejerk over the junior possession numbers of their undersized midfielders and testing numbers if they take a tall?

Crazy how much they do it and then talked down Lalor who came out and destroyed game 1 🤣🤣

Not sure they have enough fans to make a circle for said jerk.

**** I hope we raid them though. Mckercher or Sheezle would be perfect next to Lalor and Smillie in our midfield.

More like a triangle jerk i guess.

Can't believe Jack darling hasn't turned norfs fortunes around
The sad part was, Parker, Darling, and Daniel looked among their best.

Sheezel's a gun, of course, and Konstanty was a pleasant surprise. But you know you're in strife when a couple of newly-recruited 32 year-olds are the most impactful.

Yup. Lalor in a very high pressure game Infront of 80k. Clean hands, great decision making, got into the right spots. Calmly nails the goal and gets his dick out. FOS - Needs VFL time.

Xavier Lindsay was the player i thought would be great to select had he lasted to our faull selection but went 1 pick earlier at pick #11 .

Kid is having a sensational debut game against the GWS giants at half time 14 poss 4 contested with 75% game time
going at 100% DE

Sounds like the class of 24 really is quality as was speculated in the media.

Lalor, FOS, Draper, Ashcroft, Langford, Lindsay, Kako, Berry, Reid, Trainor, Armstrong all debuting and looking the part at AFL level.

Add in a few like Jagga & Hotton don't get the chance due to long term injuries.

I can't say I've paid that much attention to other draft years but is that common that so many draftees debut straight away in Rnd 1?

Certainly was

We were extremely fortunate to select 8 boys that we rated very highly in a very deep draft during a time for the club to rebuild. Wouldnt surprise me to see 5+ 200 game players from our draft haul injury permitting

My boy. Wanted him at that exact pick, but Dees were too smart to let him slip away. Hope he has a great career.

I caught the tail end of Anthony Steven’s interview on SEN radio this Friday, his son was drafted in 24 under F/S.
A couple of things that raised my eyebrows
He said that he wouldn’t have wanted his son drafted to the club a couple of years ago, but the arrival of Sonja Hood and Todd Viney had changed the culture of the club.
And he expected Norf to be pushing top 4 in 2026.

He also thought Carey was a good guy and his wife was faithful.

Haha North top4 next season. Zero chance, none what so ever.

Eagles fans gonna be cheerful on therir board after they realise what they gave up and what they got.
Matty Clarke.

Imagine they didn't poach him, we would have drafted the 8 duds of the superdraft lol
