At last, I have the technology...A lot has been spoken about it on 3AW with Tony Leonard and occasionally on these boards...

Degrassi Junior High...and the episode where Wheels is seen wearing a FOOTSCRAY jumper...

It's now available on DVD, and for those of you who have heard about it, but not seen the vision...Here's the screenshots. (I hope...)

The questions to ask?

*How did he get hold of this jumper in Canada in 1987?

*Did he realise what he was wearing was a VFL Footscray jumper from Australia?

It features on the Degrassi Junior High DVD - Season One Episode: It's Late!

The scene has Joey Jeremiah, Wheels and Shane discussing whether or not Shane had sex with Spike.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Wheels in a Footscray jumper.

It does seem a bit odd, would they of even had the coverage in Canada? Only reason I could have seen would have been if his character was from Australia, otherwise it does seem very out of place.

I wouldnt be suprised if one of the producers was a doggies fan and they just passed on the jumper to wear.

There was also an Australian show with a kid running around with an old VFL jumper, I think it was Best Worst Friends, on Ten, it was on in the mornings on a Saturday down here.

I remember that when Wheels was wearing a doggies jumper. Remember when wheels went to look for his biological father and got molested by a guy who picked him up hitch hiking? Who remembers the Zit Remedy?

- Wheels nearly getting molested.

Good times. I miss the afternoon show.

I've got a theory about this Footscray jumper. Metal Mickey another Canadian show from the '80s also had a character that once wore a Footscray jumper.


Somewhere, for some strange reason in Canada, a television production company have a props container with a Footscray jumper in it.

I just thought of something,if i'm correct the national comp started in 1987
the same year Degrassi went to air perhaps he took a holiday to australia
the year before which a lot of canadians do and fell in love with our game
or maybe it was a gift from an aussie.the mystery continues........
