He's injury prone and not that good anyway. Very mediocre. Please no
Stupid not to promote Mason Cox with so many talls gone and no back up ruckman. The Age reporting tonight that Lachie Keefe promoted to senior list.
Mason Cox and Josh Thomas to remain on rookie list.
Jonathan Marsh to be retained on our senior list for the time being.
Rookies can play though can't they?Stupid not to promote Mason Cox with so many talls gone and no back up ruckman.
Will we take any?
I would of thought 14 @ 80% 15 @ 80% and 16 @ 73% kicking efficiency wouldn't be such a bad kick at allO'Shea isn't a great kick. I don't know anything about Litherland. But I can't see the pies taking ordinary kicks after getting rid of 5!
He's played 25 games at 82% kicking efficiency can't be that badHe's athletic, but pathetic kick (looks like missing the ball half the time).
If we promote him to the Senior list, we have to carry his inflated salary on the books. Smart thing is to leave him on the Rookie list as long as possible. He'll get his chance to play without the need to upgrade him prematurelyStupid not to promote Mason Cox with so many talls gone and no back up ruckman.
Nathan Brown was in the best 22 on the AFL for disposal efficiency in 2016 with almost 85%.I would of thought 14 @ 80% 15 @ 80% and 16 @ 73% kicking efficiency wouldn't be such a bad kick at all
Brown played deep and dink kicked 15 metres some of the others played a lot further up the ground less space to kick into. Teams let brown have that kick cause they knew it wasn't gonna hurt them and if they were quick enough and made him kick long there was a good chance they would get the pill backNathan Brown was in the best 22 on the AFL for disposal efficiency in 2016 with almost 85%.
That goes to show how ****en useless the DE stat is!
You also have to consider other stats as well brown averaged 10 disposal for 110 metres no wonder he hit at 85% I could hit at that distanceNathan Brown was in the best 22 on the AFL for disposal efficiency in 2016 with almost 85%.

I know SFA but my understanding is that a rookie can only play (be elevated to the AFL list proper) if he is replacing a player moved to the long term injury list.

Kicking efficiency counts long kicks as effective. He just boots it high most of the time.
That was the rule, plus the mid-season elevation, but weren't they talking about opening up more?I know SFA but my understanding is that a rookie can only play (be elevated to the AFL list proper) if he is replacing a player moved to the long term injury list.
A long kick to a 50/50 should count as an effective disposal.. especially for a backman clearing the danger area.Kicking efficiency counts long kicks as effective. He just boots it long most of the time.
Yeah, if Marsh decided not to come back for now, and has a demonstrated depression issue, he may end up on the LTI list, if not rookied or outright delisted. So l would imagine Marsh will be moved, so Cox can come onto the list at some point during the season.

If they run with a senior list of 38, then two rookies can be "nominated" to fill spots 39 and 40, which makes them eligible for senior selection without the need for an LTI.
No, there is still a Veterans list. Now it is just the clubs can nominate as many players that qualify and 1.229% of the total player payments are excluded from the Total Player Payments (salary cap) per player, which is a bit over 100k, which will most likely change with a new agreement being arranged soon.Wasn't the "nominated rookie" allowed in place of two "veterans" ........a classification which I think has now been scrapped?
