The following is based on the belief that there is no change to the Irish rookie rule of only one Cat B.

Off the senior or Cat A list- Kirby, Smith, Blair, Oxley, McLarty Fasolo.
On the senior or Cat A list - Roughhead, Beams, Irishman

I only count 3 actual list spots, but we'll have 5 list vacancies at the time of the ND - the genuine vacancies plus Murray and Broomhead's spots. They'll be delisted before the ND and then re-rookied later on. Thus we'll be able to take all our 5 points picks to the draft, even though we only have 3 genuine vacancies and will only pick up 3 players. Rookies are no longer upgraded in the draft, they're upgraded beforehand. Mihocek will remain on the Rookie list, as the 5 vacancies must be senior list vacancies for us to be able to use the points from all 5 picks.

I follow what you are saying but why have you added 1 of the Irish boys to the main list? If we can't put both on the Cat B rookie list I would assume 1 gets added to the regulation rookie list. I also think Mihocek will get promoted but we will have to wait and see on that.

I follow what you are saying but why have you added 1 of the Irish boys to the main list? If we can't put both on the Cat B rookie list I would assume 1 gets added to the regulation rookie list. I also think Mihocek will get promoted but we will have to wait and see on that.

Cat A rookie list + Senior list = 44 players. If the rule is true that they can't both be Cat B, one of them will be Category A and therefore part of our 44. So we will have lost 6 from our 44 (Kirby, Smith, Blair, Oxley, McLarty Fasolo) and have added 3 (Roughhead, Beams, Irishman). Thus 3 genuine vacancies, but at time of ND we'll also have Broomhead and Murray's spots vacant as they have to be delisted in order to later be taken through the rookie draft.

Now that I've read up on it - damn smart work by the Lions. Picked up the whiff of Lyons being out of favour at GCS ,came in late and offered him 3 years and will get him for free.

Yep,

If we miss out on Marsh we can still go to the draft and probably find a player just as good as any DFA we might have been thinking about. Cant see the DFA fuss myself.
