Not if they pick him up in the draft. Happy for them to take him.

One of McNeill or Gordon is going to be upgraded.

I would suggest it's also possible in a weak draft that Heath may also be drafted back into the pack or put into the rookie category ala Thornton a couple of years back.
CAS they've already said Gordon upgraded and McNeil and Kruger retained as rookies

Definitely hope that Heath is retained on the list in some way. I suspect they are waiting to see what apples fall from the tree when other clubs do their delistings, given a few decent players look like being squeezed out by salary cap constraints.

The time was right for Bevan to move on from the Swans but I desparately hope that either GWS or GC gives him a go next year. It would be almost criminal to have two teams running around getting belted week after week because they are playing too many teenagers who should still be developing in the reserves, while the likes of Bevan is discarded from the AFL.

I think delisting so many means we'll be making a play for someone in the PSD. Be interesting to see how, theres been a few players that have been surprise delistings from other sides.

Sad to see you go Paul Bevan. Hope GWS or someone else picks you if thats what you want. Your efforts, especially the tackles in the 1st & 2nd quarter of the GF 2005 help set the tone that day. Well done on your Swans chapter. Good luck.

sad to see Bevo go, but I'm sure he'll get picked up by someone. The others not so surprising. Haren and Otten a chance to be repicked? Did'nt have much time at the club. Haren was injured? How bad was it, he did;nt get much of a chance to show himself, the video i saw of him at Port he looked OK

Really sad to see the end of Bevo's career at the Swans. Always been one of my favourites and was as committed and fearless at the contest as any who I've seen play in red and white.

Really hope he gets another gig somewhere. Let's hope Ross Lyon goes for another old charge of his and gives him a go if not anywhere else.

I sincerely hope Bevan gets picked up by another club, he still has something to offer this sport even if he can't increase his week in week out performance, its just about finding the right club.

Seeing Heath's name up was a shocker, hopefully he gets rookied and comes good.

Currie's delisting was odd considered what we heard on the board a few days ago but the more I think about it the more I have this understanding in my head...

Walsh will replace White's role in the team and White will be groomed as Currie's "replacement" taking on Currie's future role in the team that he was apparently assured of a bit before the LJ trade?

In the end I feel what saw Currie delisted was the lack of senior game time compared to White, the team is heading into its priemership window and may be going by the view that the years they want to win the flags in White will still be ahead of Currie even if potientally Currie may be of more value than White in the long run (which we will never know).

Also getting in early...the 2012 delistings unless trades are made will be:
Seaby
Moore
McNeil
Everitt
???

Farewell Bevo! Hope he gets picked up by another club, especially GWS.

Really annoyed about Heath, but I hope he gets another year, rookie or PSD. He's just got something about him. He's had his injury concerns, but he's a great kick and a tough nut.

Ben Haren missing out is a shame. He had something really special about him, but injuries seem to have done him in.

Eugene Kruger being kept on is very interesting. He was, quite frankly, rubbish this year, but then he is VERY raw and new to the game. There's clearly enough there for the coaches to get excited about, and another year in the system may see him start to put it all together.

Anyway, including Gordon and Mitchell, we've got 36 on our senior list. Depending on what we do with the veterans list, that leaves 2-4 spots to be filled. I'm guessing that we'll have both veterans inside the list, leaving us with our 2 picks (43 and 61) to use, and allowing us to make greater use of the rookie draft.

This is probably the best indication yet that we're considering picking up Kane Murphy as a rookie, and maybe one of the Scholarship players (Lynch and Potter are probably the two most likely). Campbell Heath is another very strong possibility to be rookied, though if he trains the house down, we could see us stick with the one veteran inside the list, one veteran outside the list that we had last season, and see him picked up in the draft/PSD.

Does anyone know what happend to Haren during the year? he seemed to dissapear mid year and he wasnt on the injury list. I read somewhere he was still seen at the club but wasnt playing games. can anyone confirm this?

He definitely stayed around the club. I saw him in attendance at many reserves games (showing no obvious sign of injury and in apparent good spirits), and he is in one of the Mad Monday photos that was published in the Daily Terror.

All very mysterious.

Any team needing to harden the F-up should pick up Bevan. I swear his mum fed him teaspoons of cement as a baby. A true blood. Hope he gets another guernsey.

Sad to see Bevo gone, Currie's fate was probably sealed when Seaby deal fell through, don't get the angst about Heath though, looked OK but nothing special. Obviously 2 knee recos didnt help him though

SYDNEY has cut nine-year player Paul Bevan .... The Swans also delisted Byron Sumner, Campbell Heath and Daniel Currie

Dan Currie.... Oh no...... Soph will be beside herself.

As you have all mentioned, Bevo was basically a mix of cement & blood. I wish him all the luck in the world. It's the worst part of the off season but it has to happen. It's tough but we move foward and soldier on. Here's to some of our new blokes filling the holes and stepping it up to yet another level. :thumbsu:
