Their D played very well. Nix didn't push the ball down field well at all, but at the same time the lanes weren't really there. Their tackling was unbelievable, basically 0 YAC allowed all day meant the 5 yard passes that normally end up as 7-8 yarders were only 5 yards. On another day, against a less stout defence, he is probably moving the chains consistently on those plays, but week 1 v a stout D in a tough away stadium with an average offense he did just ok. Not many harder debut games to make.

The lack of run game was just as bad, less than 3 ypc.

I still have some doubts around our receivers and their ability to separate. Dulcic looked a lot slower today than I remember him and Sutton has never been a separation receiver. Really could've done with Perine out the backfield today - in pass pro and receiving.

Bo Nix will be good year 2. Growing pains as per usual. Just like Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams first games.
He looked as expected with receivers getting no separation and an Uber conservative game plan.

First pick was rough but second one he was just trying to make a play down 2 scores 5 mins to go, can’t blame him too much was a rookie error and trying to push the envelope

Hope the home town fans afford him time to settle into NFL play, and don't start calling for him to benched. We know how ruthless most NFL fans are when things don't go the way they'd like.

Just need to think a little bit. Absolutely no run game and receivers getting no separation against an elite D, what was a first game rookie supposed to do?

Just thinking about what Liquorice All Types said above, it makes me wonder if perhaps we'd have been better off having Stiddy start the first month, bomb out against those elite defences then have Nix come in as starter after that. Would've generated excitement after a sluggish start and protected him from this BS.

Guess the other side of that is have him have the tough start then potentially come into some "easier" defences and the game would slow down rapidly for him - in theory. Provided the tough Defences and home fans haven't broken him by then.

A video on the real GOAT DB, from the guys who made those Sports Science videos back in the day.

That 06 season was insane. Greatest robbery in DPOY history.

64 rush yards on 19 attempts, multiple bad drops and our offensive tackles being open doors inviting pressure. Poor kid has absolutely no chance, needs help at literally every position.

Man for man this is one of the worst offenses I can remember.

Defence seems fairly solid, though. Not a lot of names but they seem to work alright together. Riley Moss looks good

Broncos fans calling for Nix's head are losing me.

****ing clowns. Its game 2 and hes a rookie... yes an older rookie but still a rookie.

By these arse hats mentality they'd have shipped off TD, Elway, Rod Smith, DT, Champ and Ps2.

So over the expectations of instant gratification. Shitful fans that engage in it..

Rant over.

Yup, just like I predicted above... give him time!

Like I said above, the offense around him could well be up there for the worst offence overall ever. It's probably the worst I can recall seeing. You could put prime Manning or Brady in here and we'd still be rubbish. Unfortunately, it's probably going to be the case again next yr while we're carrying Russ' dead salary.

In 26 though, we'll have so much cap space I could see us signing 5 or 6 top FAs, if Nix is still around and hasn't been ruined by the dogshite offense then rookie deal QB with huge cap space could lead to big success

Geez that D was special this morning... just didn't let up!
Rain and slippery conditions was always gonna make it a tough game offensively.
Glad to be going home after 2 road wins.

Said it earlier, but say it again, the D is sneaky good as there's not many names across the field outside of PS2 but as a unit they just ball, and have for a couple years now. I think PS2 is a massive part of it - knowing you can leave 1 guy on an island and not need support lets you do so much more across the rest of the D.

Vance doing a great job so far.

Was great to see Moss and Surtain get some reward in the way of picks for their great play this season. Ps2 in particular shuts games down but doesn't often get the chance to get the turnovers.

Another big plus for me, even though it was incomplete, was the ease in which Nix hit that 60-65 yard dime to Franklin. Barely seemed to step into or or need a step run-up, just flicked it out 65 yards on the money. Shame it was dropped.

The all-time great coach making a poor team look somewhat ok shocker. He only ever got criticism because people don't like him.

It also shows the impact a very good coach can actually have on a team. Under Hackett it looked like one of the worst teams ever seen, now with Bae Nix and $77m of dead money he's got them playing solidly enough they are in and winning games.
