Yep... You know what though, I'm really liking what I see with Bo. Yeah he got sacked for a couple of big losses today, but there were no turnovers, stayed composed, and hit some passes in tight windows when required.
As much as I want us to make playoffs every season, I'm not that fussed if we do miss, as long as we continue to improve, keep the core group of players together and load up again!

Agreed. I saw a post on FB a little while ago asking why we aren't tanking for picks, and I responded basically saying a winning culture is way more important than picks.

We'll likely end up with a pick in the mid-ish teens, which is fine, given Payton has done a great job of instilling a winning mentality with, let's be honest, a bunch of guys who probably wouldn't be getting playing time if our salary cap wasn't crippled. We're playing with $60m tied behind our back and are still in the playoff race. Setting up the culture over 2 yrs then receiving a huge boost in cap space will be massive imo. 2026 could be a big season.

Nix has translated to the league well and plays with more of an edge than I previously gave him credit for. Seems to have a winners mentality. Just wait until he gets an elite receiver or TE.

The only reason to tank is if need a franchise QB. Nix (hate to admit it) looks like he could one so broncos don’t need to tank they need to get as many reps into nix and start winning some games cos losing is contiguous. Plus nfl isn’t like other leagues where all the talent is at top end of draft. Plus rather see nix playing meaning full games in nov/dec that will show alot more than meaningless games.

If the Broncos make the playoffs with this team that would be an incredible coaching job by Payton and great season by Nix

The offensive weapons the Broncos have are pretty poor tbh

Even then I'm not really sure there's a QB worth tanking for in this draft. Picking in the top 5, imo, you should be aiming for a QB, then a pass rusher, then OT. Maybe a CB after that in a distant 4th - more like a top 10 pick than 5. Outside of that I agree, you can just about get elite talent at any position.

Agree, I still hate Bo's footwork but he has a never blinks confidence where the game and moment isnt too big for him, rare to see that in rookie QBs. Keeps getting better every game.

Is great to sweep the Raiders and get our first win in Vegas, but geez our clock management in the 4th was shiteful!
Apparently we were 0-8 v them over the past few yrs until this season. And yeah, it was! The only pass I maybe gave was that we were already in FG range so knew we had a safety net. But still, it was shite.

Ever since Crosby said "Bo speak up, they don't effing know!" we've wiped the floor with them and Bo has moved to the front of the OROY queue, so thanks for that Max.

Loved seeing a bit of psycho Bo in there too. Feel like he has a bigger edge since joining the NFL, don't recall psycho Bo in college.

Scratchy win. Bo looked really rattle after the first qtr. Some of the deep heaves were gross, not sure wtf was going on there, he really lost composure for a while. Made enough plays and got the go ahead FG so in the end he found a way, but since his first 2 weeks it's probably his worst game.

I think we saw how thin we are at CB - Riley Moss was a big out and we had no one to come in after him.

Also, I'm still glad we binned Jeudy. Even in the biggest game of his career he was still acting like a petulant tosser on field, having a go at Jemeis and pouting in the huddle and leaving before the play call was done.

First time ive ever seen him motivated since hes been in the NFL. Usually hes dragging his bottom lip round on the ground. That performance will be a once off, can almost guarantee it.

Was thinking the same. He was so keen to stick it up the fans/opposition, but if he'd just played with half that fire he never would've been traded in the first place.

Also helped him that Surtain didn't shadow him. All his big plays were on late round rookies, think he maybe had 1 catch v PS? Questionable by Joseph to go ahead with the gameplan tbh given he was cooking.

Had two that I remember on Surtain, on the sidelines in the second quarter IIRC, good routes. But yeah most of his big plays came against Levi "unemployed tomorrow" Wallace.

Yes I remember the one on the sideline, was a good play/route, the other might've been a 5 yard-ish catch? Also had a pass break up. Would've been a good contest see all day tbh, oh well.

Think they were both for about 15 yards. Always been infuriating to me when DC's dont let corners as good as Surtain travel and shadow someone everywhere.

I don't remember that one then, I recall a short one but maybe it wasn't

They sort of touched on it in the broadcast but basically brushed past it and talked about what the Browns DC has said. They don't move Ward around as much as it would tip off whether it's man or zone too easily so they don't play the matchup game often.

Sounds like a cop out to me. Most of the time the offenses know anyway - hence the motions before every play these days - but also there's no reason why someone can't just line up on someone but play the zone.

Can't tell me Champ Bailey shadowing the best receiver week in, week out was actually a bad idea because it tipped off the play to the offense.

Yeah exactly. It's not like you have to play everyone in man if you've got Surtain in man.
