Not really, they just voted NO.
You can’t quantify the impact of misinformation and lies on their vote.
You're spinning out of control. The fact that they are singling out misinformation in this particular situation is just stupid. It's politics mate, they lie through their ass about everything. For me, I hope it's the end of Albo because he's a snake.

Regardless of how you voted can we all agree the marketing for the No campaign smoked the Yes campaign? “Don’t know, vote no” captured the essence of this referendum. All the fence sitters who didn’t have strong feelings either way just wanted clear answers from the Yes group, but the moment Yes started resorting to “you’re a racist/stupid/go read” responses to genuine questions it was clear how the vote was going to go.

Going to be a while before the government ever touches this issue again.
Yep. It was Hilary's tactics against Trump.

This ad that went viral was clever and made me laugh, but they were trying to win votes by ridiculing the undecided...

Another error on his behalf.

We didn't need the Voice to do this. IMO (which many won't agree with), the Voice would have been detrimental to community autonomy, concentrating power and resources amongst the activists we saw campaigning, most of whom are from the cities, and are little better than politicians.

I would say we can and should still push hard to provide the communities with more autonomy. Government can do that.
I wish people would listen to Jacinta Price and just get things fixed that need to be fixed. This poor women was ridiculed by the Yess campaigners, however, she's one of the few that truly knows what's needed but not being done.

Jacinta Price hasn't got a clue, come on. Waiting for her to regale us with tales of how glorious colonialism was for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. She's a disgraceful grifter

The issue was black and White. Detail was not necessary ( as is the case with most of the constitution ) and Dutton used this lie to misinform the public.
Albo chose not to correct the misinformation or directly confront Dutton on same.

Many, being only around 30%, so YES was the overwhelming position at 60-70%. So the VAST majority were if favour.
Even if that number was 100%, the end result would have been the same.
you might take some time to look at the votes in those electorates outside your leafy inner suburbs. NT, WA, regional QLD and NSW areas with high indigenous populations had the highest NO percentages.

Yet she works tirelessly behind the scenes and actually works her ass off for her people.

Hmm. Hadn’t seen that. That was not good and if that’s what was happening it’s little wonder we are where we are.

The NT voted No

30% of its 250,000 population is indigenous

Many NT indigenous people are living in the conditions that need government intervention and support… they’ve seen well meaning white people make promises and come and go

And the NT resoundingly voting No makes a mockery of sound bite claims that 80% of indigenous people supported the voice.

The mostly white ACT voted yes. 500k population with many who work in bureaucracy and government

2% of the ACT population is indigenous

Chalk and cheese results which sum up the referendum result perfectly

Anyone looking to blame Murdoch or Dutton ask yourself how many indigenous people in the NT,,etc read Murdoch press or pay attention to what Dutton says

Blaming racism, Murdoch or Dutton (blah, blah, blah) is a cop out.

People just need to honestly own up to the idea that enshrining the voice in the constitution was a bad idea from the start - and the Australian public have resoundingly called that bad idea out 🤷‍♀️

Albo chose to glorify himself rather than the people he was supposedly trying to help.

So you don't hate your country?
I’m grateful to live in Australia. So no, I don’t hate it. I’m disappointed in the result because I saw it as an opportunity for meaningful change.

I still have hope that the current government can improve outcomes for Indigenous communities.

yeh what would someone know about the plight of her people after living in the communities all her life. Would rather go on some city slickers views.
I know right, I sometimes just shake my head at the gullible fools of this world who latch on to an agenda and just get sucked in by politicians of all people. At least I know that Jacinta is putting in 100% for her people

hope so mate. The vast majority of Australians would want this on both sides of the referendum. Was a very poorly ran campaign.

most of them would not have gone past their outer capital city suburbs.

1. Too long. Given today's attention spans one has around :15s to drive a point. After that people switch off.
2. Smug and condescending in the way it delivers the message. This actually plays into a key resistance point against the "Yes" camp.

In contrast the "No" campaign was simple, short, and catchy. Marketing 101.

P.S: I voted Yes and as you can tell am a little peeved at what I perceive to be the ineptness which doomed an amazing opportunity.

It’s not a cop out all - when misinformation about the “ need do detail” convinced so many people to vote No. And was the indoctrination used to train those handing out “Vote No”, cards as I found out when casting my vote.

Yet she works tirelessly behind the scenes and actually works her arse off for her people.
Then why do "her people" not vote for her? She gets in on the rednecks.

My language wasn't actually strong enough. The Land Councils (actually representative of Aboriginal communities) denounce her

Yes this exactly. If you’re the average fence sitter (meaning this issue is already not top of mind), you want simple clear concise answers to your questions. What the majority got were snarky comments (or worse, ridicule and appeal to shame) from Yes which is not ideal when the “default position” is to vote No.

What a hilarious irony. You've been sucked in by a snake oil merchant in Price!

Do you make the same glib remarks about all those who hail from Aboriginal communities and don't share Jacinta Price's views? Eg. The one's whose views don't align with your own.
