I downloaded this game over the weekend and put some time into it.

Gameplay is great and the graphics are stunning.

Game completely lacks any heart & soul though.

Have no idea what half the stuff in the game is even about. It doesn't explain anything and the story is presented in an absolute horrible manner.

I can't see myself lasting much longer with it.

Im pleasantly surprised of how much I enjoy this game.
Only played 2 Hours worth, but im really impressed.

Obviously cant comment on the story just yet, but looks real cinematic and the immersion is fantastic.
Most Impressed with the gunplay, how fluent it is. (Feels like Halo. I like)

Bungie makes games with great gunplay, that's for sure. Some of the other ingredients for a great game have been missing. I'm enjoying Forsaken but it is a hell of a grind.

Anyone got an Edge Transit yet?
Never heard of it.....

Main story felt as if it was missing a Second Act.
Really short main campaign

Unless im mistaken a fair bit of story is hidden behind the raid, and the world first made changes to one of the new areas which plays into the story which isn't right IMO.

Story was really good but length for the price point was a bit expensive.

The vanilla campaign was pretty short. Some of the story is hidden behind the adventures that are short missions you can play on each planet. In particular, there are certain adventures that lead into the Leviathan raid and set the scene as to why you'd be travelling to the Leviathan in the first place.

Main story builds up Gary, only to introduce Calus in Leviathan. It’s a bit of a cop out but that has been the Destiny way.

It's the raid problem that's been introduced from D1. Do you have the big bad of the story killed in the story thus needing a new raid boss? Or do you kill the story boss in the raid and leave a sub-par final story mission ala base Destiny 1.

This is the balance i'd prefer.

Good point you make.

There is also a third option that WoW does almost every time (at least they used to) and that is the big bad guy is so big and bad that every content update/new raid is a build up to the final raid where you finally face them. Not saying what works for one, works for everything else, but I guess that's what I'm used to.

If Destiny should primarly be a high skill/time raiding game (which mode sets it apart from most FPS'ers) then they should stick to it, rather than swinging the pendulum every 12 months between hardcore players and casuals.

Anyone still playing? Blizzard handed me a copy for free and now my new computer is here figured Id give it a go. Its bloody immersive so far, very nice graphically and gameplay wise. Most of my deaths so far have been over shooting platforms with my floating jump. I chose Warlock class, level 9 I think so far.

My Blizzard ID is Selthora#6780 if anyones keen to catch up in game!

There are a few who still play but mostly on PS4 as far as I know. I was playing PC but I finally threw in the towel for good last expansion. It definitely plays well. I just got tired of clearing the new raid and obtaining all the new gear within a few weeks then twiddling my thumbs for months until the next expansion.

I think they had a decent balance in d1.
Casuals could play crucible /strikes.
'Semi hardcores' like myself could 3× weekly strike/nightfall and clean out xur Whilst hard mode raids weapons were also available to collect for the toughest challenge.

So just realised now Im level 20, once I finish the story theres not much to do until I fork out $50 for the expansions...So no point playing until said expansions are bought it would seem :(
Yeh. They probably aren't going to give away the full game for free.

Agree 100%. Same boat as you.

The power level throttling was OTT in my opinion with Forsaken. I think having played religiously since vanilla D1, the grind was too much and due to some lifestyle changes have pretty much given up on the game. Just couldn't keep up with power levelling and the limited return on time investment.

Shame because most of the changes are really good and probably the best update since Taken King, but D2 game went from super casual in Year 1, to people uber hardcore in D2.

Two clan mates of mine went through the quest line to obtain Redrix Broadsword. Both said that it took far too much effort for a weapon that is not even best in class.

One clan mate managed to get Luna's Howl, but isn't chasing Not Forgotten because he doesn't have the time to play the competitive playlist non stop between now and the end of the season next week.

I only just managed to get my main character to 600 power level a bit over a week or so ago, and that's playing every night for 2-3 hours and on weekends for 1-2 hours during the day. My second character's grind has been quicker, but that's only because I've transferred my Horror Story and Thunderlord and pulled the Sorrow SMG out of my collection to "cheese" the power level grind.

I think Forsaken has been great, but there's still room for a lot of improvement in how Bungie handles loot. I have precisely two Forsaken exotic armour pieces on my warlock and, apart from the quest weapons (Malfeasance, Ace of Spades, Chaperone and Thunderlord), I have one exotic weapon. We've gone from being showered with loot to being very stingy with loot. I think that's a big mis-step.
