There was a ball up inside our goal square, the bounce went towards our goals away from the ruckmen, Thomas jumped up from behind the goal line, with his back to the goals, got his feet to Rocca's shoulder level :)eek::D) and kicked it over his head out of the air.... and this was on an angle too.

So it was an overhead kick - from a metre out - the ball was going towards Thomas (not across Thomas) - and his foot got 6 foot off the ground (just to shoulder level) - and its the best goal ever seen  :(

Collingwood supporters

You really are pretty thick aren't you?
Or just very young maybe?

Neither, no. Very intelligent actually. I'm going to assume that it was an attempt to have a go at Collingwood supporters' intelligence? It's difficult to convey tone and contention on a forum, so it's tough to recognise sarcasm... especially when the sentence is so poorly constructed. Though I'm sure that I'm still way off from what you were trying to say considering how hard it was to interpret.

You obviously haven't seen it.

Yes, it was one of the best I've ever seen. Clearly because of the club I support... good job there mate. :thumbsu:

If it wasn't a Collingwood player you wouldn't be posting jack!! :(

Of course I would. I know a great goal when I see one. I was lucky enough to be right near it, so I'm more likely to comment on it anyway.

Geez, everything on here is... "oh, typical Collingwood supporter". God forbid we comment on something one our players did today, which we all witnessed. In future we'll leave all of the comments on Thomas' freakish goals to opposition supporters, just to ensure everyone here can be comfortable with accuracy of the statements.

great goal and all but lets keep quiet pies flogged by 6 goals and haven;t got close ina pre season amtch. In all sorts leading into regular season. Freo will beat the poorly prepared Pies in r1.

Wonder how for all tjir oney and resources the match conditioning crew has f...ked their pre season up

Dubai was a disgrace. We did okay against West Coast considering almost the entire starting 22 stayed in Melbourne. We showed glimpses of brilliance today, while playing players out of position and still missing about 6 of our starting 22. And to be fair, we were within less than a goal about 10 mins into the last quarter today... we just seemed to give up.

one of best ive seen. far better than daniel wells. Just as much creative as brilliant (and by creative i dont mean dropping the ball behing urself and kicking it with the back of ur foot which the GOTY judges like). Only one at the moment that springs to mind as better was Derek Kickett's in the EJ Whitten Legends game couple of years back.

Wells' goal was ten times better and more didfficult than Thomas'. Wells actually leaped in the air, grabbed the ball in mid air and then kicked the ball in mid air before landing. Thomas kicked the ball out of mid air. The difficulty levels of the two can't be compared. Get one of your mates to toss o football in the air and see if you can do what Wells did before landing on the ground. Great goal but their have been plenty of better goals.

It sounds spectacular but best goal of all time? Give me a break! What about all the guys that thread them through from impossible angles (Bowden), weave through several opponents to kick it around the body (Ablett Sr), tackle, turnouver and belt it out of the square (Fevola)... It's a bit hard to believe that the high point of 150 years of football is a goal from the square in a practice match.
