Cant work out how Foley was deemed dropping the ball when he clearly handballed. It doesn't matter how soft the handball is. Umpire appeared more annoyed at his disposal saying ' you have to do better than that" Surely a handball is a handball

I`m prepared to leave the Foley handball alone as Richo did take that grab a mile behind the line. Wha t will scrutinised more, Richo goal saving grab or Foleys Handball?
Having said that i do agree. The umpires are not there to pass judgement on skill or to interpret rules, they are there to inforce rules and that only

Foley, like the Jake King rushed behind was just another cute little act from a team who thought they had won it but don't yet have the skill or leadership to run down the clock.

Absolutely gutted.

Yes he did handball it

Umpires were far too invloved all day.
From soft 50's and I lost count how many frees to Bulldogs in first half lead direct to Goals for them.

How can it be a 50 if the player had played on as just as he kicks the ball the Idioit in Green pays a fifty.

What about the trip to Moore in last quater, the first one that was not paid on the wing, that lead to Mark to Akermanis?
Yet earlier in game Richo was penalised for just touching the heal of Murphy, oh by the way after Richo had been taken high a few seconds before.

20 to 17 free kick count in favour of Bulldogs by the stats do not show the true story, they never do.

I would just once like to watch a game for footy with out these twits paying soft , netball like free kicks ( sorry to all the netball players out there) and let the game flow
And also stop the commentry, we do not need to hear Umpires saying "good tap" "good tackle" "he got the handball"
Isin't that what channel 7 and 10 paid 780 million $$ for?

Still lets not take awy from the great effort of Richmond, playing an undefated side who no one, not one so called expext tipster tipped!
No one has given us a chance in last two games and no won will again ext week, but when you look at ages of the players who are really doing at lot of the run and stuff, their still babies in footy terms.
More good knews, Cotchin by all accounts did okay for Coburg yesterday.

Now we have another tough one, but back at the G, what a draw we have, wonders if the League or who ever made up the draw released we finished last last year, so far only two looses have come to two top 4 sides of last year and based on last nights game, they most likely will.

Still to be above Collingwood on ladder, nice feeling!!

Young team with not much leadership in the backline does that to you corporal.

This is true, I just can't believe how stupid we were in those final minutes. I sat there just thinking this is to cute c'mon move it forward, move it forward. There just wasn't any urgency at all and as a result instead of a stunning victory we get the equivilent of a loss.

So much improvement over the last couple of weeks however the question for mine is what players are going to stand up to be the leaders if we are to become a premiership contender.

We are young however our next tier of leadership is going to have to start emerging soon.

Now, I'm not in here to cause a blue but it didn't look good. You can't really blame the draw on that one decision though, there was a bucket load that were ordinary for both teams.

And to be fair, you were in a winning position so the one decision wasn't the only thing that cost you the match in the end.

Yes once thing did not decide it,

I can think of many, some related to umpiring.

How many here say honestly mind, that Bullgdogs got goals from directly related to free kicks and how many?

The two soft 50's in the first quater come to mind,

The one aganist Schutlz on Hudson is another, it seems you can collect a guy in the head in a marking duel, but don't you dare even put a finger on a forward

Yes plenty more.

Our young leaders are just that young!
What if Bowden was playing, he is who you would want in that situation, but form has not warranted it.

Stilll we can at least say unlike Collingwood who also let go a 4 goal lead, we didn't loose.

I am proud of how they played, win, draw or loose 19 goals and attacking running exciting football is what we want to see,

Forget the unpiring...you'll simply get yourself all worked up over something that will never change. Be happy with your team's performance. They deserved to win, outran and outplayed our guys. You were creative, adventurous and hit targets....most unRichmond-like:)

I hate Richmond with a passion...more than any other club, but today you were stiff and should be pleased that you finally seem to be heading in the right direction. I was pleased that we kept fighting and scavenged a draw. For the most part we were lazy, loose and undisciplined....and deserved to lose. We got out of jail.

You guys on here are either blind or just plainly ignorant.

Foley did not handball, he dropped it.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Actually I think he did handball albeit very slightly. He was trying to be too cute and to the naked eye there seemed to be liitle or no contact with his fist. Wasn't the worst decision out there today.

I just watched it again. It was a handball. It was pissy but it was a handball.

But like I said in the end, overall these dont cost the game.

Perhaps your guys went a little defensive when it had been your attacking play that you got you into a winning position all game. Don't believe short break (7 days?) was the reason althought perhaps the Perth trip took a little edge off. Our club will say we had too long a break (9 days) so you use whatever argument suits you best.

Not sure you did too much wrong at the end apart from going a bit too defensive. The Foley decision was a little unlucky, but the Murphy goal was all class and the Lake mark/Minson goal were beauties. Sometimes it just turns out like that.

Yeah agree.

Thats how it turns out and we certainly iced too early when we had the momentum swinging our way to put the nail in the coffin.

Great game though, just ended up very disappointing for both sides.

Time to move on. Eade was quoted as saying Lake has a hamstring spasm and would have xrays tomorrow. Have no idea if this is BS or not...and I suspect you are no different.

We'll see if he plays next week.

He is the one blemish on a fantastic game of footy.

You know very well he was scared senseless about taking the kick

I was at the game and right behind Foley...looked like the umpire got it right...in saying that I am watching the replay now on Fox, with 10 mins to go the 4th so will let you know if I se different.

P.S - FO bulldogrob...we don't want to hear your opinion of us on OUR board...

Plenty of if, but and maybes when its a draw. For me the key instant was when Simmo had the ball on the wing with a minute and half to go. We just had to keep possession at that stage. Maybe players were exhausted and not working hard enough to create options or maybe credit to the Bulldogs for manning up so well at that stage - bit hard to tell exactly on the TV. But Simmo kicked to a contest in the forward line and Morris took the mark to get the turnover. If we had of even just been able to bring the ball to ground I reckon it could have been enough, but not to be.

Not knocking Simmo by the way. His play in the third quarter was directly responsible for getting us the lead we had. A couple more games like the last two weeks and he could be sharing ruck duties for the Big V.
