Umm that article is bullshit.

Since when has it been 0.8-1g per KILOGRAM? It's always been 0.8 - 1g per POUND of bodyweight which is about 2.2g per kg.

Everything I've ever read is that, why suddenly does this high school teacher have a weighty opinion for less than half of what actual medical studies have shown to be accurate?

Yes mad.

Comments in the age article going off haha.

My comment is in there under "chris - melbourne".

Yep .. total load of crap.. lots of "protein causes cancer/kidney damage" type responses too as you always get.

Money maker

Going on a bulk for 3 months (12-14 weeks pending)

How can i work out how many cals i should be hitting per day.

Gonna basically keep my protein levels going, maybe increase slightly which will just come from eating more.

Happy to take in carbohydrates to get the macros and calories up. Not worried about fat products.

Seen some mates who really dont watch diet anywhere near as much as me still keep quite cut like this purely because they probably have a higher metabolism and have more muscle thus uses more energy. So gonna give it a go.

I cut down from 75 to about 66, now gonna bulk up again will be interesting to see how much i weigh after 3 or so months. What is a good target? i wouldn't mind getting to 78 obviously some will be more water held in my body.

In terms of muscle gained, someone completely untrained might gain 10kg in 1 year. Otherwise that might drop to 3-4kg for the next few years and even less per year as times goes on (pro-bb's may get 1-2kg per year).

So in 3 months, you might get 2-3kg of muscle gain at the most.

In terms of how many calories to eat. You simply increase your calories each week until you gaining at a rate of 1kg per month (200-300g per week).

lol

It's true. I have experimented with various diets, and the idea that you need to cram protein is just silly. Gorillas weigh 400 pounds and are 4 times as strong as a man and et nothing but fruit and nuts. Cows, the source of the beef that so many BBs think they have to consume, eat only grass and grain. I was a vegetarian for 7 years and didn't notice any real difference. I got my protein from eggs, yoghurt, nuts and other normal foods. Most BBs are not very bright. It's true. I mean there are much better training methods around than doing simple pyramiding of weights, but most guys are still doing that, 40 years after Arnold was doing the same in Pumping Iron.

Love it.

Also, don't you play footy? Why "bulk" now?
At 66kgs who wouldn't want to bulk ;)

That's what, half of one Kong?

Just about everyone thinks im 75-80kg when i ask them.

Bulking before a trip away than a quick month cut than off to party. I mnow my 10-12kg isnt going to be pure muscle, quite alot will be water and even a fair bit will be fat. I think i can do it, have had a slight set back but still think i can get upto 75+ comfortably.

Hi all I was wondering if any one has tried the PWO supplement Nurocore from muscle tech for running And weights Or do you recommend any other supps for running or weights?

Re: Neurocore pre-workout.

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. It's a good pre-workout, not the best I've used though. I've had to up the dosage to 3-4 scoops (scoop is very small in comparison to other brands). I have the fruit punch flavour which is horrible, so pinching of the nose when drinking it is vital.

Mesomorph is the best on the market. Not for first timers though.

Neurocore is shit in my opinion. Get Jack3d. Cheap, good for first time users and you can up the dosage safely.

I have used Jack3d, Mesomorph, Neurocore and Hemo Rage pre-workouts. I experienced similar results with Mesomorph and Neurocore (good, but not great), Hemo Rage gave me a good buzz but massive downers (dizzy, light headed, unsettled stomach) on the come-down, Jack3d has been the best the 3-4 times I've used it over the years.

In summary, this.
