My answer to your looking for daddy question is ... because FM had told her the correct story to tell to police! Being questioned by police would have been daunting to a 4yo so a bit of preprompting so what mother told me to say about what hapoened and everything will be ok to calm her down.

IMO one thing that should have happened when 1st responders arrived on scene was to separate everybody until they had been individually spoken too.
I think one of the police who arrived did talk to FD first and then FD was interviewed by specialist officers.
Children can be prepromted but FD would have had to have stuck to the same version of events. I’d assume FD was interviewed more than once using different techniques.

I don't think William was wearing his shoes, which is unlikely if he jumped off the patio still in the roaring game.
Hi all. Long time follower of this thread but first time poster here.

In Candace Sutton's article below there is a specific reference to William actually putting his shoes back on:

"Jubelin told her in the interview that the 9.37am photo was 'the last confirmed sighting of William'.

The foster mother said it was after this that William had become bored playing with dice on the verandah and had put his shoes back on and 'jumped down off this deck'.

He was running around in front of us and I remember [the foster grandmother] saying, "Do you think he's got ADD?" and I'm like, "No, he's just excited,"' * FM said.

It was after this that William vanished; however, Jubelin quizzed her about her previous account of events."

This could be inaccurate of course but interesting all the same given WT is barefoot in the verandah photos with his sandals visible in the background, but the FM did not mention him wearing them in the 000 call or in her statement to police.

It's strange that in the FF walk through he said he was looking for things like a shoe. Why not 2 shoes. Did they lose a shoe on the way of hiding him?

FD was interviewed by Detective Debra Nelson on Monday 15th September. Detective Nelson is trained and skilled in trauma informed approaches, particularly involving sexual misconduct and child safety.

Caroline Overington states the interview date and interviewing officer in her book. And Detective Nelson's linkedin page shows her many qualifications.

I

I remember also being amazed to hear that FM was permitted to drive herself to Port Macquarie to collect her sister. Incredible if that was the case.
During FF interview his carxwas not there at 48 and it became clear later that FM had taken the car to drive to her interview in P. mac with her mother I would say as she was interviewed on same day there too.

Then they pickup FM sister at airport and on way back that is when FM had the sudden realization about the 2 cars parked in Benaroon Drive on the 12th. So she doesn't remember them even after the 000 operator asked her a clear question about strangers or cars in the street and she doesn't recall them when making her statement on 14th either and I am sure that would have been one ormore of the questions asked of her during the interview process with Det Partridge whilst preparing her witness statement on 14th. I wonder when FM was first told about Chris Rowkey's finding her mother's car bonnet feeling warm to the touch on his arrival at 11.06 on 12th.

I wonder if police had experiments conducted to test how long and under what conditions ie weather and temp etc the bonnet of that Mazda 3 car would take to cool down after a drive of various distances and journey start and end times and speed traveled compared to the time Rowley arrived on scene?

Yes the tell your story then have the story repeated in reverse by deliberate questioning techniques always catches a slip up as the brain gets very muddled trying to recall the false stuff in correct order and will spurt out the real stuff.

It’s possible.

FF rang to say home on five I don’t know how phone towers work but instead of FF ringing could FM have rung him other way round with land line and said I will meet you?

If William was not abducted and something happened to him and was hidden on the property that makes the time of the photos irrelevant because he probably was moved that night. The FF was away from the house when police arrived the next morning.
