That might be correct. His best mate Alan also played juniors at EB. All his senior footy was at East Camberwell.

I have no memory of him playing juniors. That must have been around 66-67. 67 was the last year of the U14's. I became good friends with Dale when he was 17. It was still East Burwood back then. We didn't become the Rams until 1975.

BACK-TO-BACK FOR SURREY PARK
The Panthers have rattled home from a 16-point deficit 15 minutes into the final quarter to break Donvale hearts with a 12.12 (84) to 12.10 (82) Eastern league Division 3 grand final victory on Saturday.
Surrey Park – which won its first Eastern league premiership last year in Division 4 and was promoted to Division 3 this year – was on its knees as a club little over a decade ago, weathering a 67-game losing streak from 2008-13, collecting five consecutive wooden spoons.
But it had little trouble in its move up a flight this year, finishing the home-and-away season in second with a 15-3 record on the way to denying Donvale a second-straight Division 3 crown.
Surrey Park young gun Tom Smith was awarded the best-afield medal, Tadan Vitacca finished with three goals, while boom mid-season recruit Jack Mahon kicked the winner 21 minutes into the final term after the Panthers had trailed virtually all day.

Surrey just too good. Donvale kept doing the same thing over & over again expecting a different result
Could Surrey do what Rowville did 15 years ago? Seems like they're keeping there young talent & have fixed all the behind the scenes issues that plagued them for years

They will go well if they can keep retaining the home grown players and bring in some talent. They are a good club on the rise.

How good is footy?
A bit quiet on here atm so I will post a few thoughts as things stand for each club.
Coldstream will depend on the cohort left from the Bayliss era. Usually not much in the 2s or 19s but enough firepower with Frisch and Carrigan to compete.
Donvale since returning from recess have been regular finalists across the board. New coach has big shoes to fill but has himself been quality.
Fair Park another new coach but losing Rankin and one or two others. Couple coming in from Premier but again lack of depth will be costly but putting 19s on the Park under Russo is a positive.
Ferntree Gully Patty Garritty debuts as senior coach. Lost quality in Church Flannery Kennedy and Gasparroni but couple of ins could surprise with maybe one or two more to come. Usually competitive in 2s and 19s so a few possibilities there.
Knox competitive across the three grades. Elk coached and good depth in 19s.
Oakleigh Districts quality coach and leader in Pearson. Connor Cochrane improving rapidly and Potts has quality pedigree. Lose another forward in Stevens but covetable.
Silvan always tough to beat up there and with D Alfonso returning and Blease from Heathmont adds some class. Low a strong marking forward.
Scoresby been strong across the board in 4 th division. Quality in from Noble park but other than that don’t know much.
The Basin staunch support group would be disppaointed to be back in 3 rd Div but are supercompetitive across the entire club.
Upper Ferntree Gully new coach who has a strong pedigree. Good 19s will look to compliment Bailey and Cowan.
Please these are just some observations so be gentle
