Is Oakleigh going to win their first game this weekend? The Rams hit with Covid and a few players heading to Bali will struggle to field a Reserves team. Selected teams show only 15 players. I hear a few ex-players have been asked to help out. Could we see the Senior Coach line up in the goal square?

Was wondering when this weeks instalment of "'East Burwood are missing 15 of their best players'' post would appear - and bugger me, here it is!

The way things are going Chocko will get to 400 games.

What position for Cliff?
Being paid at those days exhorbitant 80s rates again?
$20 in 1975 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $110.15 today, an increase of $90.15 over 47 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.70% per year between 1975 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 450.76%.
Medical sub, Bobby.

Correct, for the record Cliff didn't play in the magoos nor did the Coach or Slatts and I was asked to please not turn up in shorts as there could be children around. Oakleigh Districts' footy club looked after us and I think I was the #1 beer drinker on the day. They may be losing but their players don't drop their heads nor do they give up.

Mulgrave knocked off South Belgrave again according to social media

Ringwood and Sth Belgrave beaten so a big legup for EB, race for top is still on
The rams host Sth Belgrave next week and the last time they met the Rams got smashed. Ringwood host Boronia, Basin plays OD, Heathmont plays Knox and Mulgrave play Templestowe. I will go with SB, Ringwood, Basin, Heathmont, and Mulgrave as the winners but anything can happen excluding OD and Knox games.

There are 4 teams in the race for 5th.

Fair dinkum footy is strange. SB lose two games for the year, both against Mulgrave. Can't be a coincidence can it? The media team did Mulgrave last week and i think they said that they looked to have run out of steam \ and looking at recent results, you couldn't disagree. Must be something they do that bothers SB... but doesn't bother any other side below them? Perhaps SB were missing players, I dunno, but it's not like they wouldn't have missed players in other games. Strange strange.

Highly doubtful they meet in finals and SB will be hoping it stays that way!!

Reminds of Collingwood in 2011... lost 3 games for the year, all to Geelong.

Oakleigh does appear to be a quality club - just should be in Div 4. They played with vigour and a good attitude, to the clubs credit - difficult to do when they are losing by a big margin every week.
I heard their Captain tell one of the backs to keep his head up and that it wasn't his fault when a goal was scored against him as there were 3 EB blokes against him in the goal square. Great attitude by the captain.

It was 6 points and I will watch the last quarter again with great interest just to see how wrong one umpires decisions were in the last quarter. Hopefully he won't get any finals games.

I said Sth got the 4 points, not that they won by 4 points. I am not going to blame the umpires for the loss, swings, and roundabouts. We have won a close one and now lost a close one. Great improvement by the Rams and whilst Sth Belgrave was undermanned there was a lot to like from the Rams youngsters. It won't mean anything unless they come out and beat the basin next week. Some interesting games coming up in Div 2.

Great crowd at Ram Stadium yesterday despite being streamed live. Hospitality laid on for the visitors who were gracious in victory and no doubt didn't need dinner after they left.

Happy for the Rams to secure the double chance. Ringwood went down to Sth Belgrave. Templestowe over Boronia and Knox knocks off Mulgrave. What a round of football. Rams Clubrooms are packed after the game, with plenty of food and beverages for the visitors. No dinner is required tonight for many.

What is the surface of the ground like seeing there are D4 finals there.

It's a bit chopped up in each forward line but not too bad. A week off with good weather will help. Seniors don't play on there for a few weeks, so weather depending it should be fine. New Scoreboard is up and just about ready to go, hopefully, ready for the Ringwood game.
