With all the promise, which West lead us to believe, looks like same old same old, and go Parkside beating the team of champions but you guys are a champion team

Team of champions? Champion team? It's round 1....

Was there, it was a good, tight game. Parkside just were more desperate when it counted. Kicking 14.22 didn't help the Hillers.

Just by looking at the results, I'd say the poor kicking would be a big reason for the Hill losing that one.

Anyway, great for Watsy to be back on the winners board. Definitely wasn't the cleanest, most skillful game of all time but the boys really fired when it counted. Still getting used to playing with one-another as can be expected with so many fresh faces, so once they gel they should be looking pretty good hopefully.
As for West, Ewart battled all day but was kept fairly quiet by the big fella down back and probably wasn't helped by the quality of disposal, whilst J-Mac just did his thing around the ground and up forward. Should be more competitive against most sides this year but I'd say they're still a long way off.

I tipped Mernda after RD 1 last season to win the flag and I agree that PH are a team of champions, Reservoir for flag this season

Unfortunately you don't get the 4 points for having the most scoring shots alone!

St Marys lost to Banyule by around 12 goals on the weekend. Huge difference between C grade Ammos and Div 3 northern. Nick Lynch didn't play but apparently signed with Banyule. Banyule looked very sharp and would match it with some Div 1 teams in my opinion.
Would be surprised if Banyule got within 15 goals of a current Div 1 club. My mates play there and they use to play with a Div 1 club. They agree that the difference (not really skill, but intensity and strength is gigantic)

Couple of surprises last week, so lets see how today's games pan out:

Watsonia vs Reservoir One win doesn't make a season so big test for the Grimshaw Street boys.
Parkside vs Thomastown The old coach against the new young gun
St Marys vs Panton Hill The moneybag Redbacks can't lose two in a row can they ?

Gee Thomo just sent a huge message to div3.

I was at the game on the weekend and Thomo took a while to get going not taking anything away from Parkside they played very well. Once Thomo started to open them up in the 2nd half there leg speed and fitness was to much to handle and they ran out comfortable winners in the end. I won't be surprised if Parkside make the 4 as they have some quality players. Folino for Thomo is a class ablove and they are a well drilled side.

Last weeks selections were an improvement, so lets see if we can get a clean slate this week:

Reservoir vs Heidleberg West The Mustanmgs should comfortably remain unbeaten
Thomastown vs St Marys Wow, the young coaching guru certainly has the Bears firing early
Panton Hill vs Watsonia Only poor kicking for goals could derail the Redbacks here

Geez, looks like this thread has gone to sleep.
Wasn't too hard to tip the card last week, so let's see how this week goes.

Watsonia vs Thomastown The Bears to continue their dream start to the season
Heidelberg West vs Panton Hill The Hilmen will have too much class for the Hawks
St Mary's vs Parkside Both teams have been hot and cold this season, well the Sainters have been all cold

Watsonia were fantastic yesterday and showed what it takes to win the big games against good opposition. Hogg and Dornauf dominated through the middle. It might be a good thing for the bears as they were getting a little head of themselves thinking coming down to D3 would be a breeze. The coach wasn't to happy after the game and I am to believe he made an example of a few of his players.

two good games out of this week the top of the table clash resa v panton hill i think the boys from the hills have this one
wats v parkside watsonia should win this one
thomo v west thomo should win

Didn't go too well last week as a couple of teams showed some upside and the others the reverse.

Thomastown vs Hiedelberg West Except the Bears to be real keen to get back on the winners list
Parkside vs Watsonia Forma bit hard to work out here but giving the Saints the nod
Panton Hill vs Reservoir Should be a ripper with the Redbacks to again sting the Mustangs

Mustangs got flogged, i thought this game would have been a lot closer.

Mmmm. Another quiet week on this thread.

Watsonia vs St Marys Even with the gun C-C out the tip rats should get across the line.
Reservoir vs Thomastown Was last week just a once off for the Mustangs> The Bears will find out.
Heidelberg West vs Parkside Not sure which team is travelling the worst, so always go for the home side.

Looks like I'm talking to myself on this thread - but not going mad !

Thomastown vs Panton Hill The Redbacks have been more consistant than the Bears, but you never know.
Parkside vs Reservoir Both teams form has been real up and down so far this season
St Marys vs Heidelberg West Who would have thought, two last start winners !

i was driving near parksides ground so i dropped in for a look at the last 2 quarters against reasevoir the park boys ran all over the mustangs in the last quarter number 7 and 4 for parkside had a big infulance on the resault . resa seemed to be disorganised in the middle and were very chatty amonst themselves .
With panton hill getting beaten it looks like a very open div 3 this year

Obviously consistency isn't a high priority on a number of clubs KPIs based on recent results.
Makes tipping hard, but here goes

Watsonia vs Heidelberg West
Parkside vs Panton Hill
St Marys vs Reservoir
