We arent the people doing the haggling so you can haggle all you like.....I'd rather talk about whats more likely to happen. And that will probbaly mean more than just a first round pick. I think pick and player is closer to the mark.

I guess that's the risk you would take. If I remember right Hine is a big fan of the "future" picks concept.

It's not a serious risk, either, given our list profile. If we were to crash and burn and finish bottom four, either we had a catastrophic run with injuries or something goes very wrong with the coaching staff. We'd just reload and go for next year, there's nobody, bar Swan, approaching retirement and we've got young talent to burn. It's not like we'd have had all of our best players just retire or something, we wouldn't be relying on pick one to rebuild the playing list.

i think it will end up being our first and second round picks for treloar. The age made an interesting point today that GWS has to drop off 2 extra players from their list in addition to the 3 required as standard so 5 in total. Given this they are unlikely to need or want players such as Kennedy or Fasolo.
The other reason GWS need picks is to accumulate points for their two academy kids.
Given we have stockpiled a lot of first round picks the last 3 years and hine doesn't rate the draft it makes sense to offer picks over players.
For GWS it also allows them to get their academy kids without impacting next years draft picks. The academy kids also protect the value of our picks as the weak draft does not impact them.
It's a win win for both clubs so hopefully it happens.

Whilst I understand what you mean I think that we want a forward we should get Dixon.

If we want a midfielder in their prime we get Dangerfield.

If we want a midfielder entering their prime and that fits the age profile of our list Treloar is our man.

With Moore developing as KP player and Collingwood pinning our hopes on Reid's return we should get a star midfielder. My personal choice would be Treloar.

Agreed, our bargaining power is loose him for nothing or a first round. Put a price on his head at $750k and hope we pick him up in the draft. It is unfair to GWS but that is footy these days

Well you hope GWS take our first rounder or a player. Remember Treloar still has to accept the trade so If he really wants us they may be forced to deal with us. So you would hope the above happen's
Ill admit I haven't seen allot of Treloar but if they don't accept it and he goes into the draft with a high price. I am not sure if he is worth a top 5 draft pick with a high price. It mainly Victorian teams at the moment but do they have enough room in the cap and also do they risk drafting someone who makes it clear he doesn't want to play for them

Their minimum would be two 1st rounders or equivalent

He's getting the same numbers as Beams and what did we get for him?

There are only a 13 players in the league getting more of the ball and none of them are as young as him

Look at the company he's in, the top dozen in the league and they are all 25-30yrs old
