It seemed to regress a bit this year - or cop a bit more negative publicity from the media.
My team, Freo, gets plenty of supporters to the ground but it looks pretty darn sparse out there for quite a few other teams.
I think the AFL might have a problem on its hands with AFLW because I just can't see how long it will take (if ever) to stand on its own financially. We are 8 years in now so I don't know how to solve the problem but hopefully people smarter than me are working on it.

Also, I will get absolutely shot down but players that are out of shape don't get picked in other top level sports like hockey, soccer, but they seem to in the AFLW. This is not just my opinion, my partner is a keen runner and says the same thing.

Seems to have gone backwards in standards AND media promotion of it. But perhaps they've read the room and are finally not over huping it.

I don't watch it or rate it, but it has a place, North did well from sponsorship and the like. I think we may have even won it this past season.
It is just another case of the AFL spreading its long reaching testicles in pursuit of overall dominance of other codes.

Interesting, I didn't think these were allowed in AFLW
