Mundy played well when he was the loose man in defence. Big deal, most defenders look good when they fill the loose man role. FFS even Graham Polak looks good as a loose man.

I think FFC had to show physicality and intensity if they were going to beat the pies today.

Midway through the first quater on the Collingwood forward 50 arc, Mundy had the oppurtunity to body line the path of the ball and collect Rocca. Instead Mundy chose to back off in order to avoid a collision with Rocco. This was piss poor from Mundy and highlights why so many people think he is gutless. I have tried to give Mundy the benefit of the doubt in the past - but when I say him dog the chance to collect Rocca it just proved that he is a gutless wonder.

He played on the wing Fairweather. Jesus christ one game into the season and you want to sack everyone. Just wait till Round 22 and jump back on the bandagon.

palmers delivery into forward fifty woulda been handy in the 2nd quarter when we were dominating but couldnt convert...

ppl saying gilmore should be dropped are nuts.. if he can do a good job at CHB like today then it really frees up mcpharlin

michael johnson shouldnt play in the ruck... and should learn how to handball!

schammer was alright..atleast u can see some upside, crowley too..

peake for someone who is supposedly lightning fast if u were an outside observer watching the game you wouldnt guess it...

Unfortunately there was only a small amount of time when I felt we were a genuine chance despite the closeness of the scores to three quarter time. What is obvious is that McPharlin is easily our best third tall forward (maybe our second best!). I thought Mark Johnson was very clever in his possessions and Macca was also ok, so I can't see any changes there.

Unfortunately time has passed Mathew Carr by it was clear in the practice matches and I doubt that we will see him again for a long period of time. The great disappointments for me were Tarrent and Peake. Clearly you would continue with Tarrent (playing Collingwood is his least fav game) but I am begining to wonder if Peaky is going to amount to anything. Yes he has played some good footy but he just was not confident during preseason or in this game, stop running sideways and use your pace FFS.

Next week I think out Carr, Black (injury) and Peake. The ins should be Palmer, Ibbotson and Warnock with Mayne too follow if form holds up.

I do think Harvey will act faster than Connelly, there may still be some excitement to follow for Docker fans. I will be interested in IP's report because lets face it you miss so much when you are not at the game.

Sadly I think FFC had lost this game before the bounce down due to Harvey's selection policy.

FFC had a dissapointing year in 2007 with guys like Matt Carr, MacManus, Sandilands, Mundy all under performing. Is it any suprise that todays result was also a dissapointment? The team was identical to last season, so why did anyone think things would be different.

I thought Harvey did a reasonable job when he took over last season. But any many ways his decisions at the selection table prior to round 2 will determine what kind of coach he will become for FFC.

Harvey must weild the axe. McManus, Sandilands, M Carr, Mundy, Johnson all out. Bring in some yound blood.

Cuddles Connoly's big weakness was that he played favourties with underperforming players.

If Harvey is going to run with a "same old same old" policy then he is not the coach for us.

what are you injecting ,who do you replace sandi and mundy with .i was at the game and mundy was in our best. what is your fixation with mundy.

Same old same old on this thread:rolleyes:
IMO we where smashed in clearances(even when Sandi tapped it down to us),after a mark not much playing on,Defence was good, disposal into forward line poor.
Worse turnover man was MiJ cost us big time today
Other players who had poor games Mcarr,Jcarr,Peake,Tazz and Crowley.Forgot Solomon
Great games Gilmore,Mcpharlin,Hayden,Bell and Dodd
Why hasn't Jcarr been mentioned

Mundy good? We must have been watching a different game and you were looking at the stats sheet. He is easily the worst tackle in our team and he was absolutely gutless today. sure he got a few kicks.. but shit, he dogged about 5 contests i saw.

you have to really question what harvs was thinking with the team. We were not up to standard last season, and we have picked the same team again. someone needed to just sit down and go look, we need to get better - who has improvement in them and who doesn't. Guys like m.Carr are finished, and he is a waste on our list. Macca was atrocious today, he looked like he was playing on ice, he just CONSISTANTLY loses his feet and makes bad decisions.

Sandi will keep on improving, he took a couple of grabs today and hopefully he improves on that. Michael Johnson cannot handball to save his life. Hasn't got great acceleration, and isn't using his body to run through people. I think we should keep him back, wing maybe? (doubtful though) He really needs to take the next step.

Please please bring the youngsters in, at least if it's youngsters making mistakes they have the opportunity to improve, however the veterans making the same mistakes, well that is worse, it's disheartening.

Gilmore did make some mistakes today, but held cloke well, and provided rebound and a bit of run. Headland was good, brought them back into it with clearances in the third. J.Carr was MIA today? Don't think that will continue though.

M.Carr - gorn. Macca - should be a emergency. Mark Johnson - did some selfless things, players could learn how to handball from him, but too slow. Taz - looked slow today, IP will know but he didn't seem to be running at all. Schamer - cant kick and is also slow.

Pav - how much physical hammering does he take because we make him sit under the ball instead of passing to him on a lead?

We had no run in the last 1\4, not enough seemed to want it. Look forward to mayne, palmer, hinkley, ibbo recieving the ball in a run and carry position in the corridor instead or scham, j.carr, bell, johnson (he looks lost) at least they will take the game on.

oh and play drummy, bloody hell he has been about for 3 years pick 10 and hardly played.

i am filled with confidence when mundy has the ball in his hands. without the ball he seems to be a liability

bengals you make a good point. josh carr has escaped a lot of criticism since becoming a docker. we see the port adelaide version of josh carr twice a yr.

without wanting to whinge too much today was just such a let down. im sure no one is feeling more dissappointed than the players and the coaching staff.. what an opportunity today was.. play round 1 at the G.. a real chance to go 1-0 with 3 games at subi to come. would have been such a positive start to the season if the boys coulda stepped up

J.Carr was MIA today? Don't think that will continue though.

j.Carr was missing most of last season too. Must be close to his last season. Too small, too slow.

Please god let M.Carr not play next week.

.

it is incredibly annoying to be at the game and see Pav be clear on the lead and people just can't hit a target.

Agree and Agree somewhat. We saw the port version of J.Carr only once last season, the derby when the season was over.

or the week after or ..........

just waste, we make it hard for ourselves because we don't do simple things. he and jeff where often out 2-3 meters and had to sit and wait for it. The telecast said at one stage 3\4 that we had had 10-15 more inside fifties but 7 less shots on goal. Blow the mines, that what is called a skill shortage.
