to average over 10 goals a game after 10 games is a great effort, whether it be div1 or div10!!!

David Johns (Horsham/Wimmera FL) booted 11 against Ararat on Saturday to take his season tally to 79 after 10 rounds. Taking into account a bye and a weekend off he's played eight games. With seven games left in the home and away season he's well on target to break league legend John Hotker's season record of 153.

Struggled in his last years at Spottswood, must have found the love of the game again

He didn't struggle, still kicked 60 goals in his last year at spotswood, would've kicked alot more if he kicked straight, one game he kicked 6 goals 11 points.

I know the year your talking about now, That year he decided to give it away after winning succesive league goal kicking awards to concentrate on golf and only came back for a couple of games because he was begged to. After 2 games didn't play again that year. He didn't play 2's though.

yeah brad carrol for the tyntynder fc in the cmfl is sitting on 30 goals after 4 games he should do it no probs at all.

Carroll is on 78 after 10 rounds and Arentz is catching him on 70 but has played fewer games. Carroll should kick his over the next 3 weeks and Arentz will probably bring his up in the same time frame. Not sure how many Pumpa and Holt are on but know Holt has missed the last few games. Could all 4 kick a ton for the second season in a row? cfscores could you help us out with amounts for these other 2 players?

Flooding is a discgrace and Mick Malthouse doesn't condone it (though he has used it). There are some extraordinary fowards in that comp Carroll & Arentz aruguably the 2 best in Country Vic

Madpie told me its just a comp nothing special, maybe ask Madpie

Doug Lavis has kicked 80 goals in 13 matches for Coreen-Daysdale-Hopefield-Buraja United in the Coreen and District league after booting 146 last year.

Someone else mentioned Danny Casset on here - he kicked 133 goals in 2004 for Rennie in his only season up here.

But the most impressive one I know of is in the Central West AFL up in NSW.
Up to the weekend of June 24 (no updates since), Matt Smith had kicked 135 goals for the Cowra Blues in just nine matches, including bags of 27 and 34 against the Orange Tigers in the space of a month.
Cowra kicked 51.27 333 to 0.3 3 in the first game and 51.18 324 to 0.1 1 in the second.
They are undefeated, with their closest winning margin being 57 points, and no others under 15 goals.

some of these comps must have some very ordinary footy sides running around on the park if full forwards are kicking 20 and 30 goals in a single game of football, surely this makes kicking 100 goals in a season a bit of a farce and doesn't carry a lot of sentiment
makes you wonder why some of these guys don't play at a higher grade to challenge themselves because you couldn't enjoy kicking 34 goals in a game when the opposition hardly score that is a joke really

Brendon Parker kicked 16 for Nathalia against Cobram on the weekend. He's on 87 with five or six games remaining in the season.

He was two goals off the record for Nathalia which is held by Mick Souter (Tongala games record holder).

Parker has kicked over 100 for the past two seasons. A sensational player.

I don't know much about the CWAFL except it is obviously in a rugby stronghold and only has four senior clubs - Cowra, Orange, Bathurst and Dubbo - and five reserves teams, all of the above plus Mudgee.
Smith isn't listed on Cowra's website as having played more than 30 games for the club so I assume he's in the town for work and that just happens to be the only footy around.
However, you've still got to be able to kick the goals, it's a skill that can prove beyond even the best of footballers.
Remember, 34 goals means the bloke must have got at least 34 kicks.
I usually took half a dozen games to get that many.

BTW Orange forfeited its third meeting against Cowra on the weekend, or it could have all happened again.
