Mitch H has a chance to peg it back to 1 goal with all the momentum - coughs it up for a cheap return cats goal. 3-4 blokes choke on set shots - good night dogs - gotta have the balls to take those chances

Game ended when johnson wasnt given a free kick when they had the momentum. Very very ordinary decision which slowed the game down an saw the cats home. If the bulldogs kicked straight it would of been a different story. Who ever plays them next week are a serious chance.

Watching the game i always felt that Geelong had the Bulldogs covered but make no mistake they put up a very brave effort, desperately need a KP forward & until they get one you could'nt see them as a realistic chance to win a premiership considering their window is wide open!

The dogs momentum came as a result of several incredibly ordinary decisions in the third quarter. The Johnson one was nowhere near the worst.

I honestly think it was at that point of the game. Geelong were treated pretty fairly all game by the umps i thought and at that point of the game that decision totally slowed all momentum the dogs had down, they were all over you at that point. Terrible decision but there have been ones like that all year just dissapointing to see it in a preliminary final.
Not to say thats what won you the game because the dogs kicking at goal was woeful but it pretty much put the lid on it.

I don't think the Bullies were ever in a position to win, but they gave it their all, and it could have been closer had it not been for some poor misses in front of goal.

dogs had their chances ! Belive me - they had their chances !!!

but as a dogs supporter, i suppose i am sick of saying that ! it would be nice to say that they actually took some of their chances!

OH WELL, i still have faith - Next Year Maybe?

You're kidding right. Watching the game as a neutral supporter, I thought Geelong actually had the run of the green with the umpires early in the game. And the Johnston non free kick was easily the worst.

That was a really poor call by the officiating umpire. Johnson was the only one that had a chance of marking the ball, Rooke was only ever going to be able to make contact with Johnson's body. Front on contact in a marking contest is always a free kick (except this time). The umpire who got this wrong probably cost himself a GF spot.

Overall though, the Bulldogs wasted far too many opportunities, which you cannot do against Geelong, if you want to win & they still badly need a goalkicking KP forward. Scott Welsh is definitely not the answer.

What an amazing side the Cats are...... Lonergan and Mooney their key forwards were very average tonight yet they still win by 5 goals...
Geez i hope the Hawks make it thru so as we might get a watchable game.

Johnson sh!t himself, took his eyes off the ball and dropped a chest mark. He only has himself to blame for that whole incident.

Nathan Eagleton is a shocking, shocking footballer. The Dogs will never go anywhere carrying a passenger like him. Disgraceful.

I found delicious joy in Johnson not getting that blatant free kick after the string of ones that had gone unpaid by the umps in the third, not least when Johnson went the screamer, barely touched it, and then Ling got (rightly) penalised for the same thing two minutes later.

As a completely unbiased observer I thought the cats got the raw end of many decisions.....umpires helped the dogs back in the game in my mind...having said that the doggies tackling, chasing and pressure was awesome, just couldnt quite take their chances. Well done to both teams...was good to watch a hard fought prelim. Lets hope the Hawks or Saints can give the cats a run in the GF!

People seme to forget that Geelong had their chances early in the game to end it. That horrible dropped mark from Mooney, Selwoods behind, the constant fumbling in fronbt of goal etc etc. Bulldogs missed alot of chances definetly, but they werent the only team who struggled in front of goal tonight.

Without fail, every game, morons like you two needlessly pick apart the umpiring grasping at straws to find something to yell at them for.

Geelong won, Geelong deserved to win, umpires had nothing to do with them winning OR the Bulldogs getting back into the game.
