Well, I can only go by what his Manager and our Club have said. Obviously both parties aren't 100% happy if a trade is being considered. But it doesn't sound like the situation is irresolvable. Situations like this happen every year with the player ending up staying put. We're not forced to trade him.

Why don't Carlton ffs just get draft picks for Jacobs and Walker. Both players are worth top 20 picks. If Carlton get 3 top 20 picks in a compromised draft it will be fantastic for our future and we can address our needs.

A few reasons:

Judd ain't getting any younger.
Nobody wants to wait another four years for our next premiership opportunity.
We need a quality, experienced CHB.
We need another quality midfielder as top up (this could come from the draft but ready made would be better).
We don't need more young hopefuls (we have enough of these).

You'll have to cough up a first round pick, plus a quality player, plus outbid the Crows and possibly others. Tick all those boxes and you're in with a chance. Otherwise he'll be playing with us in 2011 and beyond.
