Dogs chase Blues star Andrew Walker

In all seriousness i think Walker would be a great get for the Dogs and id expect a trade to be something around the lines of Walker for Everitt plus a swap of picks that we gain from a Hill or Stack trade.

Everitt will be a gun once he leaves the bulldogs, the bittnerness between player and coach wont change and he wont grow as a footballer at the club.

"Was at the b&f tonight and I tried my best to get some info from the horses mouth regarding these trade rumours were have all been hearing. I tried my best to get as much as I could out of these guys. Make what you want of what they said. -

Had a good chat with Steven Icke (at least 5 mins). I asked him about a whole range of trade topics, and he said the following things:

JACOBS -

- Jacobs is definately gone next year...no chance he will be at Carlton next year.
- A deal has not been done with adelaide yet (this suprised me).
- Sellar will not be part of a trade. The club are not interested in him.
-Icke was VERY firm in the fact that we want Adelaide's pick 14 for Jacobs.
-The crows have offered us their second round pick, which we will not take. We are after there pick 14. (Icke said it in a tone that suggested we will play hard ball...i loved it.)
-I asked him about a swap of picks 14 and 18 and Icke ruled this out saying that we want pick 14 in addition to pick 18, not a higher first rounder.
-Icke made reference to the Mumford trade and that he feels in a compromised draft that pick 14 would be the equvilant of the Mumford trade. I sounded like he wouldn't settle for less than pick 14.

DRAFT -

-I asked about Matthew Watson in the draft. Icke is definately aware of him, and the club is clearly looking at drafting him if possible.

BRENNAN -

-We are showing a fair bit of interest in Brennan.
-Icke said that Brisbane DO NOT want to give Brennan to GC...Brisbane feel that he hs a marquee player and that they will loose supporters if he goes to GC. He said that Brisbane "dont want Brennan competing with them in their own backyard".
-Icke mentioned that Brennan is a Darwin boy and he loves the sunshine, so playing in melbourne is not is preference.
-When I asked him about on trading pick 14 or trading pick 18 for him, he said that they will not trade a pick/s to get Brennan. He said that if they get him they will trade 'a player'. This really got me thinking.
-I got the impression that Icke thinks we can get him cheap somehow.
-So if we digest all of this, here is the situation. Brennan wants out of Brisbane, both us and GC are keen but we r more keen than GC are, Brisbane want to trade with us and not GC, Brennan wants to go to GC. This is all very complicated, so watch this space i guess.
------------------------------

After I had a good chat to Icke, I had an even longer chat with Greg Swann. A great bloke...heres what he had to say:

JACOBS -

-He said pritty much exactly what Icke said. Jacobs definately gone, deal not done yet, & we want pick 14.

WALKER -

-Swann said that he is a now a big chance to stay.
-Asked about Everitt and he said that we knocked them back straight away.
-Also said that the doggies have "f**k all" on their list they can give us or are willing to give us, so a trade with them is highly unlikely.
-I forgot to ask about the Adelaide interest but i got the impression in his tone and body language that Walker was going to stay.

GRIGG -

-Swann confirmed that he is staying. When I asked about him, Swann said "He's done...We were almost going to annonce his resigning at the function tonight but that didnt quite work out...We will announce it in the next day or two."
-I asked Swann about him being linked to Richmond...he pritty much laughed at this idea.

TARRANT -

-Swann said that he is going to Collingwood. (said it like he was certain).

THORNTON -

-Swann said that the Hawks had Tarrant as their number one choice as a defender recruit, but now collingwood have him, the Hawks are now considering Thornton.

--------------------------------

When speaking to these two, I was really put at ease...all the talk on this site about us getting bent over is just not going to happen with these guys at the helm...the club couldnt be in better hands I reckon. They were both great blokes too.

I might just add that everyone on here can read into these comments what they want to...I am just passing on what both Icke and Swann said."

That's great news, hopefully we do end up getting pick 14 but just don't think Adelaide will trade it to us as Jacobs is out of contract and can get to Adelaide in the PSD if a suitable trade cannot be found.

Swanny always get's it done though!

I feel comfortable now that we can secure pick 14 for Jacobs (plus maybe swap later draft picks in crows favour)

Also really excited to hear that Grigg is signed up and we are most likely retaining Walker...

All good... thanks Jim

There is no way Jacobs would go past Richmond... I just don't see it...

Awesome post Jim.

Out of all the posts and bickerings going back and forth between Blues/ Crows and Bulldogs posters this is the only post I've read that is worth paying any attention to

Only thing you forgot to ask was which if any KPD we were looking into

Cheers:thumbsu:

Hill for Walker? That would... blow my mind. I couldn't sign up quick enough.

I would not consider trading Everitt for Walker as I feel he's one that we should hold onto, but if you're not one of Eade's favorites it seems life can be pretty unrewarding at the Kennel. An Everitt - Walker trade would come back to bite us badly.

For our compensation pick, we would probably be able to score Sherman, who probably brings more pace into our line-up.

So what would we need to add to a third round pick to make it worth your time? McKinley / Rosa in a three way deal?

Thanks. Can't take the credit for the post though. Just passing on another's conversations.

The KP thing is the only thing I'd love to have seen that's not there.

I have posted several times that our recruiting team are switched on enough not to get bent over. Forget about the nonesense other fans are saying on here. Swann and Icke will bring the goods.:thumbsu:

consider the following:

1. We rejected a straight swap for Everitt
2. We don't anything from the Dogs cause you have nothing to offer
3. Take that third rounder and stick .... i'll stop there
4. Walker stays at Carlton for 2011

Excellent previous post Jim but the OP from CSC forgot to mention that TBird,
Sauce & Walker did not attend the B&F ;)

Good to know that we are not looking at trading for some of the rubbish I have read on here & are sticking firm for pick 14 from the Crows :thumbsu:

Walker & Jacobs to Adelaide for #14 & Talia.

#18 to Brisbane for Brennan.

Now, how to get Everitt???

why does everyone want brennan??? yes he can play some freakish games but more often than not he plays very average games. we would most likely have to give up a first rounder for him. he is just a swingman (like waite but less consistent) + the amount we would have to pay him would be ridiculous

Swan stated that we will not trade a pick for Brenan...only a player.

Brenan is a matchwinner, will play better at another club and will be like having two Waite's. All for him at the blues.

The reason that I could see is if we make him into a CHB.
