1 Bomb it long to the forward line
2 Bomb it long to the forward line flanks

That was as poor a quarter and a half as you will ever see.

Slow erratic ball movement enabling the Suns to get numbers back. Then the after a few minutes of ****ing about with it at half forward, a panicked bomb forward to nobody in particular where there were 25 players waiting to contest the ball.

Contrast this with the Suns. Who in their limited movements forward moved the ball directly to predictable areas where one on one contest awaited.

I hope we turn this around but seems so familiar every time we start to trust this team they let us down

Need to adjust our positioning and change our kick focus.

No more kicking long to a pack in the centre of the forward fifty. It’s not working. Honour the leads out wide when it’s a slower play. Find a long kicker around 50, rather than 20 blokes at FF.

Defence:
Change the matchup with Lukosius to Jones and put Gardner onto Casboult.

Midfield:
Move Weightman up the ground and switch him with Jones to provide more defensive pressure higher. Put Lobb on the wing to provide an outlet.

Forward:
Move JOD deep, Naughton mid and JUH high. Don’t kick it deep but to the other two options.

So 51-9 in effectively 1.5 quarters of footy, against the Gold Coast Suns. Which would be bad enough whatever their ladder position, but they’re currently the 6th worst team in the comp.

How I laughed when Melbourne lost and Geelong failed to run over GWS. I should’ve known my team would then take an enormous shit on the middle of the ground.

That’s unacceptable for professional sport. Even Carlton haven’t embarrassed themselves like that this year ffs.
