Dom Sheed's Grand Final Winner - The Most clutch in AFL History

People can use the "increased pressure in todays game" argument all they want. Reality is nowadays these players get paid too well to put their body on the line. When it's that amount of money people don't care about being remembered like Leigh Matthews or as a one club player.

Malcheskis?

...You're talking about the goal that was halfway through the first quarter right? The one that put scores 7-7?

Yeah that was also far more clutch than Sheeds goal but I'm talking about the other Malcheski goal in that game.

Same thing as Sheeds but it wasn't a set shot and was kicked around a pack of opposition players.

All I know is I loved every second of it.....the look on the wobbler supporters faces as the ball sails through goals, money just can’t buy those moments in life.

Now on replays I look into the crowd to see the two mixed emotions.

Eagles fans go balistic.

Pies fans the mouth falls open, then they look like they all just stood in dog poo......then the middle fingers start coming up.:D

So so sweet!

Lol you're making me laugh man. That Ablett moment will forever be more clutch than Dom Sheeds goal. Just watch them both it's like chalk and cheese. Even if it was for 4pts or an AFL-X trophy.
A GF win is much, much more important than a PF win. Remind us how Geelong went in the 94 GF... so much for that "clutch" moment.

Real clutch moments win GFs.

Taylors mark in the 2009 GF was waaaaaay more clutch than Sheeds goal. Now did anyone watch that?

Like I said this is the worst attempt at a troll thread ever

Piss off Ablett in the 94 Prelim. Got a bath all day off Martyn, North not only kicked themselves out of it, but copped a royal jibbing off the umpires. It was a floaty nothing kick from Tudor that fell in Ablett's arms.

The only moment I can think of that's worth talking about in the same breath as Sheed's is Twiggy Dunne's mark and goal to draw the 77 Grand Final.

Sheed's kick was far more difficult, but Twiggy had to do a lot more to get his shot. Both so late in the game.

Had lunch with a wobbler supporter on Wednesday and he couldn’t even talk about the game, actually left the table to compose himself....hilarious stuff and I enjoyed all of his pain.

Malcheskis?
If Malceski missed that, Hawthorn would've had 40sec to go coast to coast and goal. Goals from kick ins are rare, I doubt they would've pulled it off under the pressure of a GF. Great goal but the result didn't hinge on it anywhere near as much as Sheed's.
I'd argue McGovern's mark was more clutch than Malceski's goal. If he doesn't take that, Collingwood goal and probably win.

The moments you are choosing really make your appear to be a troll. A goal from 10m out where any score will do? I see the argument that Sheed basically had nothing to lose with his shot, but there's no pressure on guaranteed goals. There's a really obvious moment that contends with it, Leo Barry's mark in 05. Another one you could've gone for is Dunne's goal to tie with 40sec left in 77.

It was good, but I can think of at least four other goals that I consider more clutch - and they were all kicked by Nick Davis in 2005.
I thought we’d all agreed that this was too far ahead of any other moment to be brought into conversation. Way to kill a thread

The close up of the angry Collingwood fans in the outer after he iced that goal is priceless :D

Harmes2Sheldon is still the most clutch GF moment ever (as a biased Carlton fan) but Sheed has forever cemented his place in Eagles folklore and will forever be known as a Flag Delivering hero, to WCE fans.

Before this season, Sheed was always bur of a polarizing figure amongst Eagles fans, but after a superb finals series and wonderful GF performance (probably The Eagles second or third best player that day) hopefully he has no more knockers.

You made the claim, back it up coward

It's a troll. It was made obvious when he commented that Naitanui's hit out resulting in Sheed's goal was more clutch.

I don't know why people bother to engage with obvious trolls, it just feeds them. Flat out ignoring them is preferable.

Well your not going to find much more enjoyment in watching your own side so I can’t blame you

So true! Luckily for me the wobblers help fill the void. I’ve watched them lose 9 grand finals and it just gets better with each choke.
This one’s extra special because of the deal to get Sheed to West Coast
Daisy Thomas to carlton
Pick 11 to the wobblers
Wobblers swap pick 11 for pick 6 with West Coast
Collingwood select scharenberg with pick 6(cough)
West Coast overlook fellow West Australian Patrick Cripps ( left him for us)
and select Dom Sheed at pick 11.....absolutely hilarious....only the wobblers
