The animations look the same, if not worse than other cricket games that have been produced. I still don't understand the hype.
All animations in the game are completely new, so I don't know how they look 'the same'.

They're also vastly superior to any previous cricket games animations.

Really I don't think the bowling actions seem that much better than a game made 14 years ago..

And Im still not convinced by anything I've seen (videos, trailer) that's its gonna live up to this huge fanboy driven hype. Expectations are massive.

But, meh, even if it has the tiniest semblance of realistic gameplay it will already be better than any other horrible excuse of a cricket game ever made

I think that alot of hype is drawn by the fact that Ross posts on here and gives fans insights along the way, and with every screenshot or video trailer that he posts, it generates hype and builds excitement

For example most regular punters would consider AFL Live 1 and AFL Live 2 to be fairly similar (talking about average gamers, not the posters on here)
The reason that AFL Live 1 is seen to be alot better on these forums is no doubt partially due to the degree of communication that Ross had with all of us during its making

What's with many players having heads that make them look like their bobblehead dolls? It's particularly noticeable on the bowling animations.

Not hating on the game as I'm amped for a potentially good cricket game - for once - but that really stands out to me.

That's what I said, way to copy me foo'.

Is that the first time we've ever agreed on something?

HBK only defends it every single time because he was a QA tester on it.

Careful about going there mate...blood has been split over Bobbleheadgate on planetcricket...think along the lines of Sockgate

Yeah I'm taking HBK's opinion with a pinch of salt (no offense mate). No way would he even risk bad mouthing the game when he's employed by the company. I'll wait to hear the reviews before I purchase the game, but for me it looks like any other cricket game that's been made, except it's got Bradman in it.

Lol talk as much shit as you want to. I'm not going to lie about anything just to keep my job.

I know that this is a quality game, I've known it since the minute I started working on it and every day the game remains incredibly fun to play. I have no reason to lie about that.

I think most the hype is people just sucking up to Ross and HBK attacking anyone who says anything negative about it.

While it MAY be a fun game to play(Hopefully) graphic wise it isn't that impressive.

who really cares? Sure, the graphics need to be adequate, but i'd much rather have a cricket game with good gameplay than fancy graphics. See Shane Warne Cricket '99

Looks good! Except for one thing...:p

"Godfrey, I always try and hit every ball on the ground."

Was about to say the exact same thing! I even rewound it to see if he had really hit the ball in the air.....

Kidding me? The player animations look more real than any other cricket game i've seen

Ooh, spill the details pls.

Well apparently there is this mode where you can play with bobbleheads. There were a few gameplay vids about it and I think either people were getting confused that this was the normal mode to play or they were getting massively irrate cos they wanted to see normal characters instead of the bobbleheads.

And then again, some people think even in normal mode the heads are too big. Not as bad as Ricky Ponting Cricket though. And its kind of realistic for the likes of Pieterson and Davey Warner anyway...

And still, the graphics are probably better than any other cricket game ever made. But you'd need to have the flexibility of a snake to limbo under that bar...

Pretty much it. I think the basic idea was the people whose life is Planet Cricket were pissed that BigAnt were wasting their time and resources on plugging a novelty mode. Because cricket is srs bsns.

Oh, Christ. The graphics look superb. If the only flaw that I could pick out from the trailer videos was that the bowler's heads may be too big then I'll take that as a huge positive for the game.

As for the hype game discussion.... AFL Live 1 was more hyped / considered a better game, I believe, on the basis that it had been such a long time since we actually had an AFL game to sink our teeth into. It's like giving a starving man McDonald's - he is going to find it to be the best meal of his life. Then after he's become accustomed to real food he's going to find something that has some improvement (say a steak sandwich with the lot) to be lesser of the two meals. Thus, expectations are going to skyrocket when the first game was at the very least half decent. Perhaps people felt a little disappointed that the game wasn't quite as improved as what they had hoped for but I look at the second game as an improvement with a lot more features that can be improved on in the future (if they keep bringing AFL games out, which I hope that they do- can you imagine how much better a PS4/X1 game could be?). I'm thankful to have an AFL game that is eminently playable. We've had some good AFL games but we've had some absolute stinkers. Had the first real AFL video game to come out in years been unplayable we'd have been upset. I am certain that BigAnt is doing a very reasonable job given their resources. I'm hoping for a highly playable cricket game with a number of features that can be built upon in future reiterations. Large bowlers heads? I can deal with that.
