I partly agree with this.
The problem is it's the same things that keep happening that stop us from getting over the line.
Time for change.

TBH I think we have culture issues. The club (and fans) seem to be content with near enough is good enough, and are only too willing to grab any excuse to pat themselves on the back whenever they inevitably come up short.
I knew the season was lost when we barley beat Essendon. Got out to a comfortable lead and then just lazily stopped. Boomer was interviewed and said 'we got the four points so that's what matters'. The fans on the board were making excuses and congratulating the players. The sentiment was 'you can't expect the players to serve their best when playing Essendon. They will suprise many this year.'
We always had the toughest draw from there, and although we were undefeated we had a rubbish percentage because we were playing poorly. We needed percentage from that game but no one gave a shit because they were too lazy and four points was all that mattered.
Now everyone is blaming injuries. No, North aren't good enough its as simple as that. We have an ancient list with a bad culture. There's nothing to get excited about.
I've probably spent too much time reading the "sympathy for *essendon" thread and so I'm in denial but I'm going to go out on a limb and say we will win the last 7 and get back into the top 4.
(Now, where did I leave my medicine?)
Coming to a similar conclusion. Reminds me of 2008 in where I think it's heading. Teased a bit but started tracking towards an inevitable downswing and feeling the coach had taken the group as far as he was ever going to.
There are short term extenuating circumstances but I feel like I'm watching the same tape over and over under brad.
Ray is not confirmed out next week. Nahas is fit to go.
Dal Softo coming back.
We are still in it, have big hopes
We can think whatever we like. It's very simple really. Either we make the GF or else, we gone backwards, or we're running on the spot. Time will tell. Apart from that, we just have to suck it up....I can't believe I am going to articulate my darkest fear BUT maybe Brad is simply incapable of coaching a team into the grand final - plenty of chances

I've got it. Is it 3 or 4 times daily ?
I went and saw my psychic last weak and I said we are dung and dusted we wont win another game this year let alone next year but he said hold on despondent i reckon you wont be too bad after the eagles in fact i think you'll win a lot from here on.
Well I dunno but im going to cling on to that and over come my natural thoughts and think maybe we are still in for a shout.
recruiters aren't responsible for skill levels. It's our development and line coaches that need to be looked at. And the bloke they all report to.Recruiters are the issue - the difference is the skill level or the want to move.
We just bomb it - they hit up targets.

I posted this in the autopsy thread but
That's our last 10 weeks.
Our year is basically over, but there are some overreactions happening at the moment.
Year is not over, but yes there are overreactions.
Looked like totally different team today.
No-one can tell me the following changes would mean at least two extra wins...and that would have us top:
Wells for Ray
Higgins for Mullett
McDonald for McKenzie
Waite for Wagner
Most sides can cope wth a couple of key outs, but FFS. Fit sides win flags. We can't do it with our current injury list, but we are not out of it.
I'm wondering if the compromised draft years are now starting to show? We finish mid table and pick up a series of blokes in the late teens at the earliest. Taking the 'best' available approach, which has seen us become too much the same and lacking genuine classy mids? (With some pace)...recruiters aren't responsible for skill levels. I don't know. Weren't Atley, Harper, McKenzie, Clarke, Mountford, etc, supposed to be the "genuine classy mids" that we picked up at our draft positions?I'm wondering if the compromised draft years are now starting to show? You are contradicting yourself. If it proves something that three over 30 players are injured, what does the bunch of "injury prone" kids prove? What about all our draft picks last year being injured? We have been unlucky with injuries with players at all ages. No need to blame ourselves or anyone or anything. We have a well-balanced list and did very well when they were mostly available. Sometimes you just get unlucky.Wells, Waite, Nds all 30+. Injured
Dish, Scooter, Spud all 30+. Cooked.
We are old and we only have ourselves to blame.
We have a bunch of injury prone promising kids, and a few blokes that 'could' make a difference that the club but don't get the opportunities others are given.
We need a rebuild.

True, it's very frustrating.
I think we are carrying to many 30+ players is what I'm getting at. They are either injured, or not performing. Decisions need to be made at seasons end.
I can see merit in carrying a few injury prone youngsters if they look like guns. They have their whole career ahead of them still.
We can't do both.
