A tweet from Tredders after some possibly inexplicable trades said that we were trading for, among other things, points for 2019 f/s picks. At the moment we have traded our 2019 third-round pick to Hawthorn, and we hold fourths from Hawthorn, North Melbourne and Adelaide. Our 2019 third could have been worth around 300 points as I would expect we will finish 7-9. In total the fourth-round picks could be just over 300. Pretty poor attempt to better our position for next year. The indicative draft order says we have Hawthorn's third but it also says Brisbane have it via the Jack Scrimshaw trade. By checking the trade tracker it appears that Brisbane have Hawthorn's third and we have the fourth.
So we've traded a future third pick with a likely value of about 302-347 for three future fourth picks worth somewhere around 300 in total at best.

trade 5 & 15 for GC's 3 and 24, tell GC that will still get Louko & Rozee with St Kilda taking King, we take rankine
If there taking Rozee and saints are taking King don’t need to downgrade 15 by 9 spots.

As long as the Crows don’t to a deal for 4 we should get Rankine at 5. If GC want Luko and Rozee they won’t trade 3 to the Crows becouse the Crows take Rankine meaning we’d take Rozee at 5.

When was the last time we had three picks in the top fifteen? When was the last time we had pick 5?

Rankine Lukosius and Rozee are outstanding SA kids and we will probably get one of them with 5. There are more players in the Draft than those three.

I would not go anywhere near the King twins because if we take one he will eventually want to return to Victoria to play with his brother.

NB Interesting that the AFL draft board has ranked the top 20 players and has Rankine at no5. I hope it works that out that way. They have also rated Jackson Hateley from Centrals at no 11 so we might have a shot at him.

saints will trade 4 because they will get king at any pick from 5 to 8 anyway

No, they might trade 4 because IF get a shizen load deal for it AND they get king at (say) the Crows #8 while getting the Crows 2019 1st or something crazy overs because the Crows are in some theories obsessed with getting to Rankine. Not at all because it's a favor to anyone else. The thing is if you're GC you pick Luko and Rankine anyway because the Crows might go Rozee - but they might as well go Smith to spite us and because he's more ready to go and then Rozee ends up with GC at 6 and GC have their "three SA amigos" retention strategy. So what's the point of the Crows massively overpaying for 4 again?

I’d be suprised if Hayley gets past the crows at pick 8 for us to grab with 10.

I don’t know what dogs are thinking but if max is there at 7 they should take him. Getting west as f/s, can get other types with later picks or another year. They still don’t have an established key forward. Saints won’t take that chance.

How Portsy is it that the year we decide to cash in on Wingard, the only place he was ever going somehow finish top-4 (smashed by Brisbane twice) and therefore have a terrible first rounder.

Yeah that’s fair thinking. Nice wedgie for the Crows ;)

Also, can I just say a big **** you to port for trading out of the middle of the draft when super bargain kennerly is going to slide to and be a freak at afl level.

Wingman who will average 30 touches at afl level for 10 years.

If he slides into the 3rd round we better live trade into that shit.

We had 3 in the first 16. Butcher 8, Moore 9 and Pittard 16. That was after trading out an absolute gun to Hawthorn. See where I am going with this?

Just checking, if a club bids on Rhylee West before the Bulldogs' pick, they have to use 7 to match don't they?

I posted this in another thread :

Could we possibly do a trade of 5, 10, 15 & 2019 4th round - GC 3, 6, 29?
Guaranties us Rankine and Smith. GC get Luko at 2 and Rozee at 5 and an extra few high pick in 10 & 15?

Thoughts?
