Was just wondering what the new draft rules are this season and beyond.
It used to be less than 5 and a half wins to receive priority picks.
How has this rule now been changed?
Thanks

To my understanding priority picks only come in to play after the first round picks are done. The first round picks will be awarded according to ladder position, but if you have 16 or less points after round 22, you will be awarded, for example, pick 17 and 18, or the first 2 second round picks.

Thanks for that

Trust the kangas to have a bad year when they change the rules

True, you blokes have been stiff with draft picks for a long time now. Playing better than the talent you had at hand, then as soon as you have a down year and look like cleaning up at the best draft for a long time, they change the rules. Still though, choose your picks wisely and you should be right. In your opinion, what would the Roos be looking for, providing they had a pick in the top 5?

thats a tough one we lack in so many areas at the moment.
I am going to say a quick midfielder that can use the ball we seem to lack
in this department besides Daniel Wells we don't have to many others that can break the lines and use the ball really well.
The club however I am guessing will go for the next best player except for a
tall ruckman considering we have Hale and Mcintosh.

I think youd do well with Gibbs, but if Hansen or Gumbleton was up for grabs, you might just grab one of those 2. For pace, Jetta would be idea for you, but you'd most likely not use a top 5 pick on him. You probably wont get your pacey midfielder with good skills out of a first round pick, so it's out of the classy midfielder with good skills (Gibbs) or the highly talented KPP's in Gumbleton,Hansen and possibly Sellar.

Also, if you have less than 16 points for two seasons in a row, you will be a 'traditional' priority pick

So if Carlton hadn't drawn with Port last year, and won 4 games or less this season, we'd be getting the 'priority' pick

KPP it will be then I don't expect us to end up last.
As long as they make the right choice I would be happy with anyone that will
be a 200 game player for the club .

That draw may have been the difference in us getting the next Judd or the next dud.
