Who are you liking for our pick in the 8 - 14 range?

The big three (Rayner, LDU & Stephenson) should be gone.
Would you take Darcy Fogarty if he were available? The wraps on the kid were huge in January, injury seems to have held him back but as one of the better physical specimens could be a good get despite us bulging with ahaf/fwd options.

The other kid who should be shooting up is Brayshaw. Kid looks like he ticks a lot of boxes. Another who imho should be looked at inside the top 10.

Still feel Sam Hayes (& LDU) fit our needs perfectly and wont be disappointed if we go down that path if we still have a first.

Fogarty I couldnt select quick enough. He has been injured during the champs and his best is better than any in this draft.

I rate Brayshaw higher than most but not sure if he is top 10 yet but I wouldn't complain if we did take him early he is a natural midfield talent with good 2 way running and dangerous around goal.

If I had a choice between Hayes and Dow I would go Dow purely because I feel he suits our needs better. Dow would be the perfect pick for us in that range. He is a ready made midfielder who can run both ways and loves the contested stuff. Although if Brander and Sutherland are available at our pick they will be extremely had to pass up same with Stephenson.

Brayshaw is classy- a little bit of Trent Cotchin about how he moves which is a massive call.

Huge call because I reckon Cotchin has a lot of Ablett Jnr about the way he cuts angles, even how he kicks the ball with his head over it looks exactly like Gaz.

Yep younger brother of Angus. Oozes leadership and class I have him at 15 in my rankings he looks a certain 200+ gamer to me

Pretty much why he should be condiered higher and rightly in top 10 consideration.

If Hayes is gone, would absolutely consider Brayshaw at our pick.

The only reason he isn't higher for me is that he isn't elite in outside of outside but just above average in both. He is extremely consistent I've seen almost 10 of his games this year and he hasn't played a single bad game no matter the opposition

Same was said of Cam Gutherie all those years ago, hes still as consistent as ever but a better, more developed level.

An alternative view.

Was super keen on Bolton last year but didnt pick him up for whatever reason. Could be a good cheap pickup that fits our needs and can come in straight away with a mature body. Seen him play a bit and I like him.

Kelly sounds good and exactly what we need (clearance king who can burst through and kick goals) but I dont know much about him and havent seen him.
Marsh would be ideal as a big inside mid but if he left collingwood to come home for family reasons i highly doubt he will want to come straight back a year later.

Kelly tore the Vics a new one in the state game. Should get drafted

I wonder how much of that is players showing more/less through the rest of the year, and how much is Twomey just getting a handle on recruiters' feelings.
McGrath and Taranto had sensational ends to the year which helped them. Id say Cal would get a lot of info from clubs, players and recruiters.

I am wary of S.A. players, especially one's who've had injury interrupted seasons. Some of their player in recent times have shown under developed fitness.

AFL.com.au must be doing a series.... Here is the SA edition

Wouldn't mind a look at Colquhoun, we were keen to bring him in 2013 in preseason draft (brought him in to train i think). Played in Port's two finals in 2014 and as a small defender he could come on the cheap as opposed to Pittard et al.
Milera's one id look at with a rookie spot. Colquhoun I loved in his draft year but he was just no good at port.

I remember at one stage last year McGrath was a chance to slide to our second round pick. How things can change lol.

Interesting that only 2 players in his top 10 there didn't go top 10 by the end of it with the other 2 still in the top 20. Safe to say we may not see any big sliders in that first 10.
