And if Kingy and co need back up in the years to come for a good old fashioned rumble with the pies, Hallahan is ur Man...:)

As you can see Im a big Hallahan Fan. Yes go best available with skill, but pick someone with abit of a ready made body or someone you can see growing into a ready made body for AFL level with abit of mongrel.

I want a team that is skilled, but a team that also puts fear in the hearts of the other teams. A team with big bodied players who can move like bullets. No more drafting twigs who just turn into sticks

say parker, hallahan and horlin-smith are available at 30, who would you guys prefer?

id rather one of these guys over the talls available like mitchell.

my preference would be hallahan, love his hunger and competitiveness, great leader and gives his all.

Horlin-Smith. Could end up one of the best three drafted.

Judd slipped in the draft because clubs believed his shoulder problems would be ongoing and debilitating. So I think SAtiger11 is relating that scenario to Heppell's situation if in fact the groin rumors are true.[/quote]

Thanks Toadvine you understood where I was coming from!!

Im crossing every part of my body hoping we get Heppell

Don't know much about Horlin Smith but sounds like he is a player. His highligth package makes him look like a good footballer although it seems majority of his kicks are mongrel punts that hit the target.

It makes it more exciting that we don't know who is coming to us. Could be literally up to any of 5+ options. Last year we knew it was 100% going to be Martin well before the draft.

Fox Sports will probably kill off this excitement with terrible draft coverage.

Tiges now expected to take Caddy at 6!!!

Conca to the Dons

Caddy is the man i have wanted for the last 2 months. Would be over the moon if we got him. Clean and strong in traffic, fast and terrific work rate. Wins his own ball, can break away from contests AND is good overhead for his size, and will kick goals as a forward. Those qualities and versatility make him too good to pass up IMO.

I agree.

Have wanted him for a while now ever since he kicked 7 for the Knights in a TAC Cup game.

However that article is just speculation from the journo can hardly see us taking him as from other reports we haven't spoken to him.

AFL Phantom has Harper going at 29. We'd have to rate it a fine draft if Caddy (despite looking a tad overdeveloped for TAC Cup in my worthless opinion) and Harper came our way.

Frankly I am more interested in pick 30 than pick 6.

Forgive me, for I am not an authority. Having looked at Heppell on the web, it looks to me like he goes OK and can pick up the ball with one hand but his kicks are hardly bullets and he seems more a Sam Gilbert type at best. Tell me why I am wrong, and factor in his allegedly dodgy groins (hardly a CL injury I know).

Atley or Caddy?

I have had this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach for the last week that Harper will go between our compo pick that we let go for this year and our second rounder, and then turn out to be an absolute gun.

We really should have used our pick 26.

I think considering the strength of the draft we should have used it. One of Parker, Harper or Lucas Cook will be available at 26 and I think it would be better served this year and putting the development into another player than waiting until 2012 when it will be pick 22 instead.

Fox Sports will probably kill off this excitement with terrible draft coverage.
There are 2 ways to watch the draft on Fox this year, the main coverage will feature the first round and then revert to the interview style they had last year. However, if you push the red button you can watch every pick live as they happen. There will be a camera on each clubs table and when their picks come up they'll be focusing on each table.

This is getting pretty ridiculous now, we've now been strongly linked with Polec, Heppell, Caddy, Conca, Lynch. Honestly I don't think anyone knows who's going where outside the top 3.
Does anyone else think there are a lot more smoke and mirrors in this draft than has been for a while? There's been too many "links", surely the clubs aren't changing their mind now? It has to be some sort of chinese-food-mind-game going on.
I reckon there's been one player they wanted the whole time: Heppell, and these links are just to screw with other clubs, every clubs probably doing it.

Are they still doing the arse-faced reverse top-10 bullshit?
I believe so. Like its going to be a huge shock to hear David Swallow the last name read out.
