List Mgmt. Draftee, NGA and Father/Son Discussion - 2025

Evans BOG for Perth. Think he's been BOG for both of Perths' pre-season matches, and was by a few reports arguably 2nd BOG to Curtin in the WA summer squad match about a month ago. Shift to the midfield paying off so far, though very early obviously.
Is he a chance of getting mid minutes at state level?

This kids is sounding very promising.

Curtin is the type that could easily go pick one by years end. Key position player, 200cm tall and pretty athletic. Keeps kicking bags watch his stocks rise.
Richmond just drafted a couple of tall forwards didn't they?
Going to be interesting come draft time

I’m not saying he goes pick one or even top 10, all my point was that he’s the type that can jump up the boards quickly if he starts regularly kicking bags.

Malakai little brother is NGA for Fremantle
Unfortunately they moved to Kalamunda from Kalgoorlie and are under dockers zone
He is a die hard eagles supporter as well, more so than his brother
But having said that is enjoying the Freo NGA programg

Good weekend for WC NGA players.

Tylah Williams kicked a couple and was named one of the Swans best. He's very quick with a sweet left foot.

McGlade played his first match of the year for East Perth. Also named in the best. I think he's going to be played up the ground more. He's very talented and does some eye catching stuff, ground ball pick ups at speed, candy selling, high leaps etc. Grown a bit to 177cm

Adrian Carles has been named in the best for the Perth futures team in all their matches so far. Saw him play for the World team against the Boomerangs last year and he looked a way off and didn't really impress me tbh.

Narrier kicked six of nine goals for Swan Districts and been their best player in the futures tournament. Athletically he's ridiculously quick on his feet, has breakaway speed and his step and evasive skills are great to watch. Only 165cm I think, but he's 15.

Tylah Williams set shot kicking is so good.
Rarely misses, will get drafted if we don't take him someone else will.

McGlade is a top 5 draft pick end of next year, special talent

Heard a podcast earlier that said Tylah could be one of the best small forwards in the draft by seasons end. Was only an opinion but still sounded like they had seen a bit of him.

Going to be tight for list spots with Banfield, Evans and Whalley already on the radar.

Think there will be another big clean out this year, more delistings than most anticipate to make way for kids like this.

If you were making the cuts, who would be your surprise calls?
I think there are six obvious ones then the next group that some may consider unlucky if they are delisted are Hunt, Brock, Chesser, Bazzo and Cole.

Whilst he has shown a bit in patches Brockman should also consider himself lucky he has a contract for next year.

Our NGAs/FS alone of Walley, Banfield, Evans, Caton and potentially Williams are five spots plus I presume we’ll take a player in the MSD. Add to that any trade acquisitions and 1R draft picks and spots are likely to be tight, as strange as it sounds.

Jake Caton is another NGA player who impressed whilst training with the club over summer

How long has Cripps got left? Sheed will go too you’d think. Wouldn’t mind paying out Jamieson’s contract if that’s possible. Just a waste of a list spot

Very good problem to have, such a strange feeling to finally have our NGA bearing fruit...and seemingly all at once.

I'd agree that Chess is probably gone unless something extraordinary happens. Bazzo has yet to prove anything other than he has potential and is super injury prone (this one will sting the most)...needs to play some very consistent footy this year if he's a chance of staying, his saving grace might be our lack of taller options down back. Hunt, I can understand. Like him but can't keep him at the expense of a draftee. Cole, I think he stays unless someone like Bo or Luca really comes on quick. Brockman...well, we've got the year to find out how serious he really is. Doing all the right things so far, just needs to stop going missing for chunks. At this stage I see it less likely than likely he makes it but I hope I'm wrong

Chesser and Bazzo have both had mitigating circumstances that have significantly impeded their development and of that group I personally think they should be the last to go. Bazzo’s life challenges don’t need explanation and has had a wretched run with injury and many probably don’t understand just how catastrophic Chesser’s ankle injury was.

Hunt is likely to be on thin ice and I don’t think we’ll have the list space to keep both Bazzo and Brock (if either). Cole seems to polarise the board but he’s an AFL quality premiership backman and would be a victim of our only strong NGA/FS year to date if he were to be delisted.

Best case scenario Cole, Hunt and Petch attract a band 5 FA offer netting us 3 picks around 40 which we can bundle up to send to a club with an early NGA selection before they blow out.

Is it simply luck of the draw? What’s changed that we seemingly now have a wave of NGAs coming through like some of these other clubs, having previously done very little of note in this space.
Apparently now they do the bulk of the preseason with the AFL side, as opposed to coming into the club once a week for work experience.

ROYAL EAGLE could explain it better.
