Thanks for the warning, duly disregarded!
I'll keep posting about the game.

But you keep doing you. You do have a chance to respond to this:

It's metascore is soon going to hit 70's, now that more reviewers who weren't given access codes, review the game.

Despite the positive review bombing, it's user score is at 3.8 ( I've personally never seen it this low for a AAA game, Starfield is at 6.8).

It's not going to make budget; so it's a flop.

Keep screaming your flawed logic into the void little man, I hope it gives you some sense of catharsis.

You keep replying/posting without actually addressing the issue why this game is currently flopping despite the inital positive reviews.

You haven't presented any logic whatsoever in your last posts, just some non-sequitur short ramblings.

I can just keep repeating that Dragon Age Veilguard sits at 3.8 on Metacritic now that it's ticked over 5000 user reviews.

You mean the review bombing I pointed out days ago?

Well done champ.

Go have a look at the user reviews.

Most of the negative user reviews, are people who've reviewed other games. Most of the positive user reviews have only reviewed one game, Dragon Age Veilguard.

Do you have an opinion on why EA didn't offer access codes to game reviewers that were critical in any form, when the preview came out two months ago?

IMO, it doesn't change much, those game reviewers will review the game anyway. The problem is that fewer consumers still trust gaming site reviews in the future, and any modicum of goodwill that Bioware had, has gone down the drain.

Please don't take it to PM's. It's unfair on the rest of us following this saga.

If it just becomes ad-hominem attacks with little to no discourse about the actual game, or anything associated with it, then it's pointless having a discussion on a forum.

I find ironic that the people defending this game, are currently using the "evil/areshole options" in most of their interactions here. Are they aware you can't do this in Veilguard?

Good news: I have quite literally zero desire to entertain the looney in PMs.

Bad news: I also have zero desire to entertain him in general. I'm just hoping he gets it all out and moves on with his life.

Already $75 on sale on Amazon. Game must be struggling badly.

Won't be long before it's on PS Plus and Gamepass.
If it was selling badly, wouldn't it be cheaper at all retailers? The fact that it is only on Amazon suggests it's simply a good deal.

I have also noted that Astro Bot is much cheaper on Amazon and that is getting rave reviews.

Well that explains the reports being rejected... Sad you see it that way, I thought I was being fairly reasonable in calling out nonsense.
I don't agree with Roby's takes, but I also thinking you're a going a bit too hard on this. I don't blame dwwaino for his mockery!

I got it for release on Amazon at that price, they matching retailers like Big W, not really an unusual price.

Been trying to find comments about the game without the anger of the dei online, found some on the Reddit page (pretty sure they are deleting those angry ones, which is fair enough) but a popular thread atm is 'good game, terrible Dragon Age.' - has a lot of people agreeing on the comments,.

My concerns from there are people saying the writing is a little shallow, companions have lost some edge and everyone comes across a bit softer. Which is missing the mark on some of the rpg elements that make the genre.

Also the combat as it's not really my style as I find it gets boringly reprtitive but I think maybe that's to appeal to those (young people) who will sell way more copies of the game and not people like me in my 30s.

Really want to play the game still, have to see where the story goes. Torn about asking for the game for Xmas, waiting for a price drop, waiting to see if it goes on game pass ultimate which includes EAplay

Wait for a price drop? If you enjoy a game like this, what difference is $20 going to make when you’ll be spending 60-70 hours on it?

You can spend more than $20 in a bar in the city in under five minutes.

Ultimately, what’s important is whether you want to spend the time.

I did the same with Starfield recently—it got much better user reviews than this, and I regretted it. I spent a fair bit of time watching people play Veilguard live (I'm a huge Dragon Age fan), so I had it running in the background. At no point did any of the dialogue stand out. The few choices you make aren't really morally ambiguous or carry any real weight. There’s not much of an interwoven story, no world-building, and while the landscapes and scenery look amazing (probably the best thing about the game), everything feels hollow due to a lack of world-building through side quests, dialogue, and interesting NPCs. You’re not transported into a different universe, but rather into a facade of a fantasy game with 21st-century dialogue, where you can occasionally pet a cat or dog, give a coin to a beggar, or repeat the same inane puzzle—if they can even be called puzzles. Maker's breath, what did they think they were achieving with this?

I’ve noticed the reviews, and even some streamers seem to enjoy the combat, but it just looks like Genshin Impact. Every battle looks the same, and you could probably get through most of them with your eyes closed, as with Diablo. And, I’ve mentioned this before, but your companions have unlimited health. They can't die. Where is the gravity of each battle with a feature like that?

Even the skill tree and weapons fall flat. There are no unique weapons or cool abilities like in previous games—just more stats, buffs, and mitigation. That’s mainly why I decided to skip it. There’s nothing remotely interesting, even combat-wise. In Dragon Age: Inquisition, even if you found some side quests tedious, different heroes played in unique ways with distinctive playstyles and abilities, which still felt fresh and fun.

If I were you, I'd go play BG3, if you haven't played it already. That game has been out for over a year, and nearly twice as many people are playing that right now over Dragon Age the Failguard, which currently sits 38th most played on Steam, on its second weekend after release.

Agreed w/ this. People waiting on Baldurs Gate 3 to drop in price need to read this comment. You pay $30 for a parma and a drink these days.

man they did so much right

It’s a beautiful looking game.

The more linear focus is better than the “open world” of inquisition

But that combat ………..

Not only is it boring as bat shit, it’s been done about 100 times before

Alternative……… use the advantage of linear scripted set pieces to perfect real time with pause combat. The fact they leave the “strategic ability wheel” is just a slap in the face.

Can’t believe I’m being asked to learn combos in dragon age

I've been running as a mage/spellblade and enjoying the combat, fast paced electricity.
