Dogs game.
Draper, Walters, Emmett, I agree with everyone they're not playing well enough.

We need to persist with Fyfe and Darcy.
I've got a slightly different take on this.

We are every chance of playing finals this season, and if we are, Fyfe in form will be massive. I think managing him during the season can help achieve that

The second point is that Brodie at the very least is a very handy plug and play replacement if Fyfe is not available. But leaving him to whither away in the WAFL is not the ideal strategy for keep him prepped. Half a dozen games during the season alongside our other midfielders is what I would aim for.

At the game I thought I saw a few occasions where it was 2v2. Amiss would lead to the HFF near the boundary and Treacy would lead down the middle. The kicker would usually be near the wing would lookup and see the two options and decide down the line to the boundary was safer. When the kicker made their decision the defender on Treacy (looked like Moore when I noticed this) would peel off and head to Amiss to make it a 2 on 1. The Collingwood mids and half backs would push down to cover Treacy. Looked like very good structure and defending by Collingwood to me.
Thanks Bendy. Wouldn't surprise me if avoiding Moore was a strategy.

Bit of over analysing Sharp’s kick.

He simply shanked it.

He received. Straightened. Then simply shanked.
It wasn’t a shank at all; he was running directly at the point post and kicked the ball straight.
The two alternatives were, attempt a baulk around the pies player or a check kick off the outside of his boot; both high risk options.
Devil’s advocate says if it was Hayden Young we win the game. A left footer kicks that goal.

Hang on are people seriously suggesting he missed deliberately? Now I've heard everything. So what if he tugged it left aiming for a behind and put it out on the full? Of course he was aiming for goal I can't believe a sentence has been wasted on this let alone multiple posts.

The thing that has been missing the last couple of games is Fyfe's cleanness and ability to hit some ridiculous handballs.
In the first part of this season he genuinely unlocked some serious good looks with his vision and ability to hit the handball.

I think it's part form, and part the other side trying to close that down more as it's damaging.
Yeah, fair enough. The quality of opposition is definitely a factor.
The point is all about what Nat is trying to do for the team. He is taking a selfless role and copping increased physical hits.

It’s a matter of how much you know about football and the fact of the matter is I have forgotten more than most even know about football.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

People always love conspiracy theories lol

I think his actions after siren told the story..threw his mouth guard on floor and was peeved at himself for not kicking the goals. He wouldn't have that big of reaction personally if it wasn't because of missed goal

Disagree.

Good analysis.

I felt that c’wood were defending deep (clogging the forward line) and banking on winning the contest when they won the ball back.

They are pretty well drilled. The extra 3 or 4 highly inexperienced players they had over their normal side proved problem only at the end when the heat really went on.

I know it's been done to death but I've just seen yet another bunch of w***er vic journos discussing it last night. I lose my mind their Darcy/Jackson discourse after every game. It's the same thing every time.

Jackson was poor against Collingwood which means that he can't play with Darcy. He needs to be solo ruck. We won't mention his multiple poor games this year without Darcy because he played well last week (even though it was his first good game in over a month) and it doesn't fit our narrative. We also won't mention that the ruck split was 40/60 and Jackson got absolutely monstered every time he went in there. Or that he had 10 HOs, 1 HTA and 1 CLR from 45 ruck contests. No, instead we'll talk about how if he played as a solo ruck he could have had slightly better numbers, and freo are ******* idiots for putting Darcy (8 CLR, 30 HOs, 10 HTA from 66 contests) in there instead. Doesn't matter that it would have been a huge net negative for the overall team performance. It's all about maximising Jackson's personal output rather than team output isn't it?

And then fans and oppo fans latch onto that because that's what they've been hearing and keep parrotting the same s**t.
I listened to some muppets on Fox rabbiting on how Darcy Jackson combo just won't work; then someone mentioned how many teams won a GF playing 2 Rucks and then they started recalling just about every premier over last few years; and decided to change the topic. They really just look stupid sometimes when they try to fill in time with that rubbish agenda

Bottom line it works and we should bring in Riedy whenever one of our main rucks goes well to allow the FWD line to stay settled.

The sooner the coaches give Reidy a go the better i reckon

I have watched the Chappy mark and Mooses's goal so many times now, it was the opposite of how these games normally go for for us, normally its in our defense and we are scrambling to stop them stealing the game. i.e. Blues and Power

I had another look at the moment of Sharps kick, definitely no option to give to a teammate as I had first thought, Treacy giving a perfect block on Sidebottom who was charging in, but Maynard had already given up made no attempt to tackle, with the benefit of hindsight Sharp maybe had another second or so to improve his angle but ultimately there wasn't much more he could have done, was just pure luck at that point, given all the luck we had in the minutes prior I think it just ran out, so close but wrong side of the post.

If he had of kicked straight that pies defender with his arms out probably would have smothered it, if he waited any longer...

The telecast doesn't give a perfect view of the angle but you can see the corner of the goalsquare in the second photo which shows Sharp facing the goals, that was his angle of run as well.
He just pulls it across a bit with the approaching player providing perceived pressure too.

Sharp had every opportunity to kick it, but it wasn't a gimme either.

I was at the game on the wing at ground floor near the players dug out. I wasn't exactly in line with Sharp but pretty close to it on kick. It appeared that he didn't line himself up with the middle of the goals when taking the shot.

We can all debate this for weeks.

It definitely didn't look like a Collingwood player would smother it as some suggested.

Ergh people at that time in the game it was a throw it on the boot for a score scenario, he did the right thing (obvs hoping for a goal but settling for a point).

Way too much over analysing going on here. If anything we should've set up better for the kick in and locked it in

Spot on.

Was worried they were about to go end to end and score with how easily we let them kick in.

Agreed can’t believe how much analysis there is of sharps chance. He rightly threw a boot at it and it just missed.
A few boys were caught napping to allow Moore come steaming out of the goal square for the aggressive kick in though. Luckily we got away with it

Yeah we definitely didn't do a good job responding to the behind, as per the current rules it was a very quick kick in though, they had just been running full pelt into our forward line.

The only thing he could have done was sell some candy and cut inside but that’s risky and could have resulted in no score at all, therefore a loss to us.
