On the topic of Essendon ruckman, Ryder scored his lowest SC score in his last 25 games against the Crows. I own him in SC... early indications are that this is an error. Will the low score be an aberration or will the rise of Bellchambers seriously hinder his scoring?

Waspy

I think it will be an aberration. Though if Ryder plays to the same leve,l his average points may go down a touch, seeing that Bellchambers will spend more time in the ruck.

Great win against the Crows guys, not only tipped you guys but had a cheeky tenner on you as well.

Question: Hows Stantons preseason and current form looking? Looking to bring in either him or Jobe this weekend for your game against Melbourne. Love Jobes work ethic and consistency and was going to lock him in but I got a feeling Stanton might be up for a biggen against the Dee's. This is an outsiders perspective and was hoping one of you guys could give me your opinions on the two, thanks in advance.

Jobe for sure.
Doesn't get tagged out, is consistent & just the better option. Stants may go bigger this game but barring injury Jobe will destroy Stanton over the year
Jobe will outperform Stanton over the year, but his price reflects that. I have gone Stanton over Watson as I think Stanton's price is low for what his output this season will be, with most of the taggers probably looking to go with Watson, Goddard or maybe even Heppell or Zaharakis.

Thanks guys. If I were to have either for the year I would put Jobe in, in fact he was in all preseason till a couple days before lock out and I opted for Ebert from Port to be a cheaper replacement as my "Mr Reliable". I want one in for this week (maybe till round 3) with your game against Melbourne. So seasonally who brings in the better average, Im not really concerned at the moment, but am after a solid 100+ score for this week (130+ but I can only hope).
So I know Jobe is captain reliable and is solid across the whole season and Stanton can be sub 100 during losses, so I guess a further question is, do you think Stanton will have a massive one this week against the likes of Melbourne? (weaker team, lacks pace, looks like a definite win for the bombers)

I'd still back Jobe to score higher than Stants, who may cop a tag and may have lower score output with Goddard and Zaka firing up. Jobe will monster Melbourne, they can't stop him in the midfield and they definitely don't have an answer when he rests down forward.

To answer the bolded; Yes.

Just wanting some opinion on Heppell

Seriously tossing up the idea of a trade from him to Hartlett.

I know you guys will be very pro Hep but more wanting advice on his role now theres been a full preseason and round 1 game.

Is he still looking to play the increased mid time touted? Are you expecting a high possession/mark friendly role?

He started like a freight train round 1 and died, reminiscent of last years trends. Not sure what to read from that- his start showing promise or to expect similar or slightly more than last year.

Any obvious reason for the decline last week and is it likely to be a common role if it was a role change?

Thanks guys

If I were you, I would try to fit both into my back line. Both high quality and young with plenty of scope for improvement. As for the drop off, I think some of the defensive focus on Goddard shifted to Heppell after half time, which in turn released Goddard a little. With Zaharakis reaching peak fitness in a couple of weeks, the opposition tagging options will become even more unpredictable, though I expect Heppell's scores will continue to improve.

would certainly like both, hence the real dilemma I have choosing between the 2.

I have a 3 premium/5 rookie backline structure which works well for me at the moment for my overall team structure. With Gibbs and Goddard necessities it leaves room for one to start with, the other certainly an upgrade target.

5 rookie backline? How many are Port players?

He got 4 touches and 11 HOs and still got a 50.

He will likely never score that low again.

Also: Dempsey people. Dempsey.

Zaha in a few rounds, once the sub score is wearing off.

Been burnt too many times by Dempsey. Knowing my luck, I'll get burnt by not having him this year

think its a pretty common structure (3 on field)- 3 port (stevenson, pittard heath) with Goodes and Terlich. Have enough cash to turn one to L Brown if he looks the better option after an uninjured game. This cash was there to turn Terlich to L Brown when he wasnt selected but now he is I will hold for now.

To be honest I hope I'm burnt that way.

There's less to tag at Port than there is at Essendon. Don't expect good coaches to let Hartlett run free the way clueless Neeld did.

Anyway the golden rule in fantasy football, don't burn trades in round 1, especially going sideways.

2 trades a week and looking likely to use 0 so no such thing as burning a trade in that situation anymore. I do tend to think i should stick with my initial selection though as it will hurt less if i end up making the wrong decision either way!

Ahh you play the inferior game, carry on then.

Also in that case, Stants may actually trump Jobe this week. Expect a lot of outside ball and uncontested marks.

I have a 6 rookie backline and as a result came 14th overall ;)

Goddard, Gibbs, Goodes, Pittard, Stevensen, Heath (Brown, Terlich)
14th overall this week? Good effort. Hope all those players don't burn you later though. I'm not against having lots of cheap picks, I'm just wary of having too many players from one team in one spot.

Would you be wary of Swan, Pendles and Beams :) I would be if my opponent had them all!

Yes, I would be wary of that, I'd never have all of them in the midfield. All you need is Collingwood to have a horrific match, or play a match in the driving rain and you could have 3 below par score, one of which is more than likely your captain.
