I have no problem if the AFL want to mimic America and go it alone and be a roid fest (they will need decent insurance) but they need to pay back all the government funding they have got in the last two decades.
Either they are part of society - or they are a pure private corporation. If they are the latter then go for it - but pay the taxpayer back the billions of subsidy.

Why do people think College Football is so popular with middle class families in the US? The NFL is largely a corporate bogan fest.

This has merit.

The NFL, Major League Baseball, the NBA and the NHL are far bigger than the AFL, and none of them follow the WADA code.

WADA was formed for the Olympics. A glorified swim and track meet for amateur individual athletes held every 4 years, hence the minimum 4 year suspensions. It is not really relevant for fully professional team sports that are played every year.

You need to get out of Australia more.

The Olympics is broad in its sports to even the playing field. Nations specialise - based on culture, genetics, climate. If a sport means shit to you it's very likely everything to another nation. Gymnastics to Belarus, Rugby to the Welsh, Weight lifting to Bulgaria. When these guys get 1 gold medal in the Olympics it's not their 1 against our 10, it's did they win THE medal. That we Aussies say **** it and go for all of them is just an expression of our culture.

His suggestion sounds like a very good idea. Given the experiences that Essendon has had they should be given a lead role in helping write the code. It should also have very strong provisions about the right to remain silent that was grossly overridden by the AFL and ASADA.
