ziebell or sidebottom maybe even yarran from is performance last night
hmm....lastnights performance aye? Garlett and Bentley look better
fevo or roughead
roll the dice
and is kerr a risk
everyone is a risk...

would you like me to pick the rest of the team for you?

Yarran looked to me to be slightly better than Garlett however both were good.

I dont really know who Bentley was and wasnt really watching him.
I think Yarran being such a high draft pick will have more pressure to get games to show why he was chosen.

Garlett also has that fugly hitler style mo. Should not make the 22 based purely on that disaster of a moustache.

This is doing my head in...
what is the best option out of these two??

A: Adcock, J Mcviegh, Vezpremi

B: Newman, Hazelbly, J Reiwoldt

Was thinking Adcock could score similar to Newman, and im just iffy on Hazelby. And you'd think J Reiwoldt would be in Richmonds 22 but ive heard Vezpremi is a goer but i know nothing about him only what ive read.

Id go A, to me Vez is better value than Reiwoldt and same for Adcock over Newman. I think there is better value than McVeigh in the mids though.

Here is my side atm.

Fisher Goddard Cornes Lockyer Drummond Raines Grimes/Geary Petrenko Suban

Swan Selwood Gibbs Masten Tuck Rich Beams Anthony

Cox Petrie Graham Spencer

Delideo Gia Davis Houlihan Higgins Skippy Ziebell Hogan Walker

13 keepers, im sure that Walker has his spot for round 1 so even if Zeibell doesnt get selected i wont have a 0. Masten/Tuck big cash cows, should rise pretty quickly and hopfully only 1.5 trades to get to in ABC.

My one big question, Should I move Houlihan to the backs in Fishers place and take in one more premium forward? In other words its Fisher +16K vs Boomer.

Thanks mate, yeah i'm liking option A also more because i think J Mcviegh will be a keeper where i think Hazelby will require an upgrade. Would love to hear from any sydney fans on Vezpremi, never seen him play. Is he a definate 22 player??

Amazing to see how many people have now jumped on Grimes and Sylvia after 1 game. They played Sydney who couldnr care less about player running around free at this time of year. Look to see how they go against other teams. Dont just jump on their bandwagon over a 100+ score.

I would like to ask a question about Houlihan and Skipworth? alot of people would say pick up Houlihan in the backs and Skippy in the forwards. But when looking the midfielders dont have much around the 200k mark and the Forwards dont have many mid prices around 240-250k mark. Where are you better of picking these players??

Nice contradiction. But seriously, there is nothing wrong with jumping on a justified bandwagon.

Nice team, I'd leave it the way it is.:thumbsu:

Wouldn't touch Bentley. He's on the rookie list and there's a number of rookies more likely to be elevated than he is - Gartlett, Joseph and Jacobs. Word is Pfieffer has been promised a nominated rookie spot, so that means only one of the above will be eligible for action in the first half of the season barring an LTI.

Besides, Bentley is average at best. He might have gotten a game had it been 2005, but our depth is too good for someone with his deficiencies to get a look in.

Sylvia had 6 scores above 94 and 10 overall above 90 from 18 games lst year and finished with an 82 average. To get to a 90 point average for the season he needs to average a kick, mark and handball more per game than last year. Considering its not unusual for players to improve by a couple of kicks and handballs per game that should be something that is quite easily achieved.

As for Grimes, spent last year recovering from stress fractures after being a reasonably high draft pick the year before IIRC. At @$186k he offers decent value and in a side that is likely to give plenty of chances to kids offers great value to those looking for a cheap 7th-8th back for the start of the season.

Dids, Davis and Daisy in the same team might not be a good idea. If we get thumped then you could be in trouble. Overall it's a good team though.:thumbsu:

Dont mind ya side at all. Enough keepers? maybe, you obvoiously are picking Sylvia as keeper and Thomas almost falls into the keeper price as well. I didnt bold kerr because you want your mids averaging 100 by the end of the year and i cant imagine kerr doing that.

My question mark is with your backs, would like to see one or two more keepers, maybe a trade to bring houlihan into your forwards for Thomas and then pick another back keeper in Thomas' price range.

I also think you have too many Collingwood players. An off day for the pies would cause that side to struggle a fair bit.

Mid price side with high priced bench adding security
Goddard - premium
Lockyer - keeper
Drummond - Keeper
Adcock
Houlihan
Raines
Grimes/Geary

S.Hill
Petrenko

J.Corey - Premium (captain)
Gibbs - Keeper
K.Simpson - keeper
Foley
T.Tuck
Haselby

Otten
Rich

Hille - Premium
Macintosh

Graham
Pyke

Deledio
Gianciracusa
Sylvia/Brennan
Higgins
Lucas
Krakouer
Skipworth

Yarran
Gumbleton/T.Walker

50k in kitty
Starting no rookies
with players that offer plenty of potential on the bench for money

I will probably cop it for having Grimes, Sylvia, Krakouer in my side but this is just an experiment more than anything looking at a midprice side with plenty of backup on the bench. I actually have been considering Sylvia since about round 15 of last year. I also did that analysis of him saying he got over 90 (10 times) giving something like 56% of the games he played he scored above 90. I was picking Brennan ahead of him but am unsure of his injury severity??

Thoughts on team

9 keepers isnt enough IMO.
But i reckon hes got 11 (sylvia, Gilbee) are definite keepers
But 11 isnt enough especially when you are starting 3 rookies

I think the one thing i noticed is by picking no ground rookies you void a fair amound of dollars of rookies making money, ie Beams, Anthony, Suban ect.... Its a risk either way. But when i look at that side it would take a fair amount of trades and time to get it to the finished product.
