Eagles/Dogs game: most critical of the last few weeks

In the last 12 weeks bulldogs have played: 14th, 12th, 15th, 11th, 9th, 16th, 18th, 13th, 17th, 12th, 10th, 14th.

Just wanted to quote because that is such a set of lovely numbers!

However, you can only play who you face and GC sure got a rude awakening when we played them.

The bottom 4-6 teams from last year also had a comparable draw to the Bulldogs, but I don't see them fighting for a top 4 position. But of course the dogs had an easy draw, hence why they are 4th. Port had a hard draw so they have dropped too 12th...such a cop-out
Port lost to Carlton and Brisbane lol and they had a hard draw

They've actually beaten 4 top 8 teams themselves

It's no knock on the dogs, they've done very well to get to where they have, but I feel that if anyone is not going to see what hit them, it will be the bulldogs, for the fact that they have not played anyone of real quality for 3 months, especially not at subiaco.

West Coast seriously depleted backline coming up against a hard running, free scoring doggies team.

Critical for the Dogs top 4 chances as Sydney seem to have the easier run home.
Critical for West Coast as Hawthorn have a 3 week holiday on the run home.
A loss here and West Coast are cooked for top two with a hard game against Adelaide to come.
They get LeCras and possibly Naitanui back which will help.

I think Bullies by 4-6 goals.

What's the thoughts of the BigFooty collective?
Either you have your prioritys all wrong or you seriously underestimate North.

Reeks of bad loser L72, when will a put down on Freo appear (its not warranted either)?
I'd have thought any thinking Docker would want the Hawks to travel - IF the Eagles stumble, the Hawks grab 2nd & they wont travel during the finals, stay in Melbourne & Freo need to keep winning. Freo need the Eagles to get a better run of injuries down back.

Across the muddle headed wombat L72 ??
Freo cannot beat the Hawks with their style of footy so i think the OPs searching for solace.

Agreed, weve done much better this year than anyone (including 95% of our own fans) expected. Making finals this year is a massive bonus for our ridiculously young group. The next decade looks very very good for us.

West Coast at Subi is always a tough ask, tougher than much of our last couple months, but WC are wounded and have faced two tough games in two weeks so could be in for a let down and our ridiculously young group are on a high and might be too inexperienced to realize they should be in trouble.

Its definitely game of the round, the results will have a big impact on the final 8 so lets all sit back, grab the popcorn and enjoy what should be a cracking game.

Sounds like what people were saying about West Coast in the week before they played the Hawks and Freo and the Coasters then went on to almost beat the Hawks and to beat Freo!

Winning form is good form and really builds confidence.

I can see what you're saying, and it applies, but to a lesser degree. In the weeks prior to playing hawks and freo, west coast smashed the swans, the crows, and beat the tigers convincingly. The bulldogs definitely can beat west coast, but they will have to be switched on from the get go, but given that the best team they have played in the last 3 months is the 9th ranked geelong, I think it's more likely that the bulldogs will be shocked than the eagles will.

If it dries up this weekend it could be a very entertaining game this one, hope its a shoot out with plenty of goals and less biting.

Boyd and Picken out, along with another first year player debuting for us. So we have our excuses ready for a loss. ;)

Dogs throwing in the towel. Shame.

You never know, might freshen up those guys for the 5 day break while finding another new talent on our list that could prove himself. Beveridge always was balanced in his decision on the now and later.

Boyd and Picken out, while Eagles gain Nicnat and Lecras.

Game changer.
Makes it tough, but we seem to play better when underdogs.
We'll only have two players in our line up with over 100 games of experience

Perhaps, but it was also a game changer when JJ and Murphy were pulled out of the port game... most doggies thought our running game would slow down, until of course it seemed to make no difference to our running game at all. Those outs tell me Bevo is supremely confident in our system, and it is the style and team wide systems that are all important, not so much the personnal. If the players do not adhere to the methods, then who is in or out is not all important. The geelong game is a perfect example. Solid team line up, stronger then the week before and the week after, but they failed to execute the game plan (credit to geelong also) and we lost.

The fact that more people don't realise this is quite disturbing.
We've average something like over 2 changes week-to-week and used almost 40 players, yet people don't seem to understand that point in bold.
