Think through that logically

If we wanted Farren Ray - we'd take him in the PSD or do a deal that would be in our favour

Whey would we give up Seaby for Ray?

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

And why attack the poster when it was on 5AA?

If he gets a red-card thats rubbish.

Because Seaby wants to leave?

Ray is fair enough compensation for Seaby..

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

He isnt.

Seaby is contracted tho.

That said, it's somewhat moot.

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

Not that i think they're of equal value, but both of WC & Dogs are asking for about the same for those players.

There's also been talk of Dogs being after Schultz, so it could have some merit. Or it could just be that plus Tigers wanting Seaby & Ray being from WA. Joining the dots, but there's nothing really there

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

Ray is still contacted next season i think

Nah he's not

Seaby is in contract and a player the club still wants.

I personally don't think Seaby for Ray is a fair swap of talent at all.

however let's assume it was - our bargaining position is far stronger - why would we not exploit it?

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

There have been reports that Ray is uncontracted and will go in PSD, but trust me, they are rubbish.

Ask Rocket...Farren Ray has one year left and will be retained on the Dogs' list if a suitable trade isn't found.l

Yea thought so, He was been talked about on KB's show this morning as to having 1 year left

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

Richmond have Simmonds and Pattison! Farren Ray could easily slip onto a wing. And tigers give polo for ray?

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

Pattison' not a ruckman. He's a key forward who had to ruck because there was no-one else, and to his credit he did an OK job.

He'd be much better off being developed as a CHF, whether that's at Rchmond or Footscray.

Re: Eagles, Dogs, Tigers to do deal

Id rather Schulz then Hughes. Schulz seems to have more intensity.

Id still like a pick upgrade along with Ray. I dont mind him as a talent but IMO if Ray comes hes gonna have to work hard to get into our best 22 and not just expect a spot straight out.

Am happy to be wrong, I took my info from a number of various media reports that said he had just finished a 2 year deal.

ahh no, he is out of contract. He said at start of season he didn't want to resign until years end, so he can go into pre season draft if he chooses to.

Because football clubs don't like to burn bridges because it will come back to haunt you.

Err...no.

Bulldogs' football manager James Fantasia was told yesterday that Ray will not agree to remain at Whitten Oval under any circumstances.

"It's up to the Bulldogs to get a deal done because otherwise he'll go through the pre-season draft," said Ray's manager, Rick Olarenshaw, who spoke with Fantasia yesterday.

"Farren wants to see a win-win deal struck. He'd like to get to the club of his choice and see the Bulldogs get something in return. That would be good. If not, then he will go for nothing.

i don't disagree - and i don't suggest that we try and absolutely screw anyone over - just get a better than fair deal.

Dogs and Eagles have a very good track record of getting deals done

Last year's picks for pick being a prime example

Then again - you guys might be mad at us for trading you MacDougall
